Hello,

Our customer recently installed our application from Google Play Store, and Kaspersky has indicated that there is a dangerous object trying to download. This object is the Trojan.AndroidOS.Obfus.a

Could someone please direct me to this area so I can investigate whether it is in indeed a genuine issue or a false positive?

Thank you

Hello @nghiank

Welcome!

  1. Read this guide - What to do if a Kaspersky application blocks my website or application & contact Kaspersky Customer Service, on the support page, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown in the image below; please include any screen images of the error & a detailed history.  KCS will assign the incident to the Kaspersky Virus Lab who will perform the analysis and advise a result. image.thumb.png.cc3f5ead6471365898f5fa4cfcb64b85.png

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

I followed this guide:

  • 1. Uploaded the file via the link: https://opentip.kaspersky.com/
  • 2. Tried to locate the hash file, but I couldn't find the "Submit to reanalyze" button
  1. Do you know why ?

Hello @nghiank

Thank you for posting back & the information!

  1. Which browser is being used?
  2. IF it's not possible to use https://opentip.kaspersky.com/ - skip that step & log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service - as we showed in the instructions in our previous reply.

Hello @Flood and Flood's wife

1. Upon further investigation, I discovered that this detection seems to only affect the "Hash File" and that there is a "Submit to reanalyze" button available with the "host" scanning.

2. I would like to clarify that I have not used or been licensed with Kaspersky's product.

As the owner of the application, my main intention is to report this false positive case to Kaspersky for resolution

Do you have any suggestion or advice on how best to proceed in reporting this issue to Kaspersky ?

  • Thanks 1

Hello @nghiank

Thank you for posting back & the information!

  1. Access to the Kaspersky technical experts requires users to have paid subscription(s), you advised (your) *customer* reported the issue to you, ask them to log the request OR take out a paid subscription - there's Kaspersky products that are very affordable & don't necessarily need to be taken out for more than one month, for example - Kaspersky Secure Connection, https://www.kaspersky.com/vpn-secure-connection   - the cost of a cup of coffee, OR - Kaspersky Amazon has very economical subscriptions. Also, read: How your subscription works                                                      image.thumb.png.ddbe7253984eab0e701518d007917845.png
  2. The available methods we've provided above are: (a) via https://opentip.kaspersky.com/ -> Submit to reanalyze & (b) direct to Kaspersky Customer Service, that team escalate the issue to Kaspersky's Virus Lab experts who perform the analysis & provide the advice.

Thank you🙏
