Dear Technical Team,

We are encountering an installation issue with Kaspersky Endpoint Security on our Oracle Linux 8.0 server. Below are the details of the environment and the issue for your reference.

System Information:

Operating System: Oracle Linux 8.0

Perl Version: 5.26.3 (already installed)

License Type: KEDR (Offline setup, no internet connectivity)

Issue Description:

We attempted to install the following package:
kesl-12.3.0-1162.x86_64.rpm

Permissions were set using:

chmod 777 kesl-12.3.0-1162.x86_64.rpm

The installation command used was:

sudo rpm -i kesl-12.3.0-1162.x86_64.rpm

However, the following error occurred during installation:

error: unpacking of archive failed on file /opt/kaspersky/klnagent64/bin/integrity_checker;6900b5ed: cpio: Digest mismatch
error: klnagent64-15.4.08952.x_86_64: install failed

We also attempted to install the Network Agent package using:

sudo rpm -ivh klnagent64-*.rpm

but encountered the same issue.

Please note that this server does not have internet connectivity, so online repository or activation is not possible.

Request:

Kindly provide the exact step-by-step offline installation procedure (including any prerequisites or verification commands) to correctly install both:

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux (KESL 12.3)

Kaspersky Network Agent

Following packages are need to be preinstalled, for Endpoint Security in Linux,

  • Third-party anti-malware software should be removed from your device.
  • On devices running the Red Hat Enterprise Linux, install the perl-Getopt-Long package.
  • On devices running the Red Hat Enterprise Linux, install the perl-File-Copy package.
  • This package is required for the initial application configuration script to work, but may be absent by default.
  • An interpreter for Perl version 5.10 or higher should be installed on your device.
  • Make sure the semanage utility is installed in the system. If the utility is not installed, install the policycoreutils-python or policycoreutils-python-utils package, depending on the package manager.
  • On devices with operating systems that do not support fanotify technology, make sure that the following are installed:
  • Packages for compiling applications and running tasks (gcc, binutils, glibc, glibc-devel, make);
  • Package with header files of the operating system kernel for compiling Kaspersky Endpoint Security modules.
  • For the Firewall Management, Web Threat Protection and Network Threat Protection components to work, the iptables utility needs to be installed on your device.
  • For the application to run correctly, make sure that the root account is the owner of the following directories and that only the owner has the right to write to them: /var, /var/opt, /var/opt/kaspersky, /var/log/kaspersky, /opt, /opt/kaspersky, /usr/bin, /usr/lib, /usr/lib64.
  • Disable SElinux and Firewall of the Linux Distribution (Ubuntu , RedHat )
  • Create a list of paths of Application or Services which are running in the Linux System which may required to be whitelisted
