Kaspersky breaks Windows Hello and Windows Biometrics by preventing Webcam Access

I have installed Total Security and disabled Webcam Protection and rebooted. Despsite this the Webcam cannot activate to use Windows Hello (like it did before Kaspersky was installed).

It seems Kaspersky has had an effect on the Biometrics ‘Windows Hello Face Software Device’ in Device Manger. The properties being “Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)”. This needs a fix please.

Hello   @Peter1313dsaa,

Welcome!

  1. If Windows is run in SafeMode does  “Biometrics ‘Windows Hello Face Software Device’ work?
  2. In Device Manager, are any devices disabled or with error status?
  3. Please run a GSI &Windows Logs, upload to cloud & post the link please?

Thank you

Hello there.

I recently installed Total Security and had the same issues as described above. Additionally, in my case, it breaks the biometric functions used to log in via Webcam (even with webcam protection turned off) and fingerprint scanner.

In Windows Settings, it says the Windows Hello is being blocked by some application. It does not show any errors though.

Please can you guys help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Could you  know which process which related to Windows Hello and Windows Biometricshas been blocked by KIS? Please set those processes “could access webcam”. Any better after that?

Regards.
