Kaspersky blocking terminal connections (npm/github/etc) (OS Catalina 10.15.3)

I have Kaspersky installed on my Macbook (OS Catalina 10.15.3). It won’t allow me to use commands such as npm/npx or push/pull from github.

It’s very frustrating, and works fine when I close the Kaspersky app. I can’t see anything in the settings that would allow me to change this.

Can anyone shed light on how to fix this issue as I don’t want to disable Kaspersky every time I run one of these commands (which is frequently).

Thanks!

That sounds weird.
What you can try as a workaround is to add the described tools to the Trusted Zone.

  1. In the menu bar, click the application icon and choose Preferences.

    The application preferences window opens.

  2. On the Threats tab, in the Exclusions section, click Trusted Zone.

The Trusted Zone preferences window opens.

  3. On the Trusted files and folders tab, edit the list of trusted files and folders:
    • To add a file or folder to the list:
      1. Click the + Icon.

A dialog where you can select a file or folder opens.

      2. Select a file or folder that you want to add.
      3. Click Open.
  4. Click OK.

You should open a support case and describe your problem in detail at my.kaspersky.com

Cheers,
Leon

Thanks for your reply @intrusus, sadly I’ve already tried this (prolifically scraped through each of the settings) and I believe Kaspersky is perhaps intercepting encrypted connections and for some reason requests within the terminal don’t pass ‘a certain check’.

But thanks for your help! I’ll contact support!

Cheers,

Cal
