Kaspersky Backup to USB disc, the folder I select is not compatible for receiving the backup file

Iwhen trying to get Backup to a USB connected a MyPassport 3Tb disc I get told the folder I select is not compatible for receiving the backup file;  why would that be and what can I do ?

If you are backing up your files to a My Book (Western Digital) drive, format the drive to the NTFS file system before creating the backup task.

⚠ Note: if the Scheduled Backup option is selected, the password that must be used is the Windows User account password⚠

Re “ folder I select is not compatible for receiving the backup file”:

1. Where is that folder located?
2. What permissions are assigned to the folder?
3. What happens if that folder is copied to the Desktop, & the backup configured, does the same error repeat?
