Kaspersky 2020 makes me unable to use Windows 10

Kaspersky support is so useless. Phone and email. I’ve got 2 tickets, one from email and one from phone and they still can’t fix my issue, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled kaspersky 3 times, and it still doesn’t work

The problem:

  • I cant use my search bar or press the windows icon in the bottom left when kaspersky is installed
  • i can’t access any internet browser, if I click nothing happens. (Chrome, brave, edge)
  • if I do manage to open chrome, it just is loading the page forever and nothing happens
  • discord and other applications won’t load, the only app that will work with the internet with this issue is steam

 

Why it is kaspersky causing the issue

  • All these problems go away when kaspersky is uninstalled, I can press on everything, use discord, use all my browsers, they all load, etc. It’s fine when kaspersky is uninstalled and every other pc is fine

 

kaspersky has asked for GSI and screenshots which I can’t do when I can’t even access my email. But I did submit a GSI while it was uninstalled and they didn’t care and just ignored it and said thanks. What the hell do I do? I guess just uninstall kaspersky and never use it again since it doesn’t work?

Additional:

There are known & acknowledged (by Microsoft) search bar & associated issues. 

The Support Team need a GSI & Windows Logs run when Kaspersky software is installed, for the life of me, I don’t know why, guess it must be their crystal b🔮 lls are all broke🤔

The GSI data & images (for the Technical Support Team), can be uploaded to Cloud, email is not a prerequisite for either. 

(I agree with @richbuff ), persist with working with the Support Team, they are the ones who actually can assist.

I have the same issue. Since the 2020 Update on my Windows 10 Development Machine every 2 Minutes another “Security Warning” is issued … For Example from the Kubernetes Extension from VS Code, from some Python Extension that checks for Updates. I already downgraded from Kaspersky Internet Security to Anti Virus and still this issue continues. I dont have time to add hundreds of rules. They only way to get rid of this is to disable Kaspersky. If this continous I have to quit my subscription and search for a replacement of your product. This would be a pity because I was a satisfied until recently

already done that twice. Now all they say is “oh remove malwarebytes” like bruh. Kaspersky has worked for 3-4 years (2016-2019 versions) alongside my malwarebytes and now you’re saying 2020 is any different? It’s bxxxxxx. I just want a full refund of my 284 days remaining of kaspersky cause all they say is uninstall malwarebytes which I won’t do cause Ill lose my premium subscription. Kaspersky is just getting worse and worse each year.

Regarding Malwarebytes.

Note, it’s not necessary to uninstall MB, just change so it’s not running Real-Time Protection.

the support team doesn’t think that, I told them I won’t uninstall it and they just re-sent the same email, 6 calls and 30 emails and they won’t help me. Kaspersky support sucks and they won’t fix their sxxxx program.

They’re probably linked though, since kaspersky makes me unable to access the internet it would make sense that they would be linked

 

and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled kaspersky 3 times and it won’t update

@Jarrod,

Have you disabled  MB Real-Time Protection?

Alternative: Have you uninstalled MB, installed Kaspersky and run the update to test the update issue? 

Noting, you can reinstall MB, after the problems are resolved. 
Btw, having the GSI & Windows Logs would help us help you.

No but I found the fix, do you wanna know how I Fixed it? IT seems really dumb

 

  1. Launch into safe mode (with networking)
  2. Install the kaspersky protection chrome extension

I don’t know why, but that fixed it, it was my last solution cause i realised i had an extension missing but thats so stupid that your internet wont work at all on any browser or discord unless you have the extension.
