Hi i just clicked on a new york post article, it automatically went to chrome and downloaded this? ive already emailed them about it. what is this? it was 0B when i checked the details then full scan kaspersky free on my phone and no detections, and also sent it to virustotal

and no detection, ive sent it to my pc thru google drive and no detection so far from google drive when downloading it, and scanning aswell on my paid kaspersky on pc. tried sending it on opentip but it says ( ” The selected file is empty. File must contain data.”) ive already deleted the file but what the heck was that? im sweatin bullets right now lol😅😂😂 i know its stupid to have a malware on 0bytes but im just paranoid bc this caught me off guard, downloading automatically 😂 thanks and sorry for your time in advance! ♥

 

its download error since, ive denied it since the option on chrome do iwant to download the same file popped up and i said no, but the first one came through. i clicked the same article twice thats why to make sure it came from the same article, and it did

Update, ive noticed that after ive set up the password for the zip this lock icon now comes up whenever i download, and has file ownership when right clicked. did i do some settings wrong when i zipped it and changed something in my settings or is this a malware? 

 

 

Update again i forgot i checked encrypt contents to secure data when trying to password the zip and made a mistake to check to check ‘encrypt ‘

i am able to remove the lock icon once by one but if i tried to right click anywhere on my downloads and uncheck the encrypt contents to secure data the error below happens.
any download that i do now has a lock icon automatically now.

Update again, ive clicked ignore and not all and now its attributing to all files and is taking an eta of 2 hours and 40 mins. why is that  when i mistakingly clicked the encrypt files earlier it had no time of encrpyting and now decrpyting is 2 hours? and i think i only encrypted the properties of that zip file but anything i download now has a lock icon. all my files is not locked just new ones.

Update after digging hard, i think ive found that no solution can be done with my problem on the “encrypt decrypt of my pc” other than a reinstall as it appears to be a bug that is not that widely known. so for anyone bumping into this. just help me with the first problem ive asked on the new york post file. thank you very much!
