is kaspersky free meant to be able to detect adware extensions?

is kaspersky free or the kaspersky protection extension for google chrome meant to be able to detect adware extensions?

i'm mostly asking this because, as it turns out, i've had an adware extension on my google chrome for probably a little over 6 months, and despite fully scanning my computer at least 7 times in that span of time, kaspersky has never detected any threats at all.

 

the adware extension in question is called “safe torrent scanner” and it apparently comes with installing utorrent. obviously, i was not aware of it being installed on my chrome (despite having made sure i wasn't installing anything but utorrent) until i got an email from aliexpress suggesting me items corresponding to a google search i had done on the same day, which very much alarmed me. this extension is also a pain to remove, since i had to remove it from my computers registry in order to rid of it completely.

is this extension simply not registered in kaspersky's database as adware, or does kaspersky free lack an option to scan browser extensions?

• No. Kaspersky protection extension blocks pop-up ads with Anti-Banner →, however 1.  you’ve “consented” to installation of safe torrent scanner. 2. As we understand it, safe torrent scanner is not distributing pop-up ads. 

 “safe torrent scanner” is installed as a component of  Utorrent, as such, you’ve “told” KIS & or KAVF the extension is “safe”. 

Removing  “safe torrent scanner” can easily be done using Revo & or CCleaner, there’s no need to muck around with the registry.

sorry for the confusion, i actually made a mistake at the time of writing the post from a few days ago 😖 -- i have kaspersky free. 

 

as for safe torrent scanner, i have reasons to believe it was, in fact, distributing pop-up ads which has lead to attempts of malicious file downloads (although all of them were detected and blocked by kaspersky, luckily). and i felt iffy about installing any more programs to my computer at that point, which is why i settled for manually messing with the registry considering i knew exactly what to do. in any case, it is removed now, and i got the answer to my question (why kaspersky didn't detect it) so thank you!
