I upgraded the device and the important thing is that I downloaded the free Kaspersky product and it has an expiration date. Why does the free version expire? I do not have the money and I want my daughter’s device to be safe with the free Kaspersky product.

the limitation of the license has technical reasons.

If the license expires, it is automatically renewed. You do not have to do anything.

some things still work after expiration and some things don't. i still use the free version of KIS from 2021 but renew so everything works. otherwise the firewall would still work but the virus scanner wouldn't. could i use it this way? i probably could! just get a different free scanner but keep the firewall. and it might come down to that since i'm in the US.

they say 2 antivirus running at the same time interfere with each other, but there are free scanners that seem compatible with kaspersky, especially if the scanner is turned off. but do i really have to scan my computer for viruses? i never do, i don't want to know. and i don't want false positives. but not really, all you need is a good firewall which is what Kaspersky will keep doing.

buying a license at a store instead of auto-renewing will save 2/3. it's worth it to pay for antivirus if possible, it's like driving a car with no tires. or trying to buy insurance after the house is already on fire.
