How to do a selective background scan?

My Windows 11 PC has 5 partitions. C:\ Windows,  D:\ Portable programs, Projects, eBooks,  G:\ General FilesL:\ Linux,   M:\ Media

I can select to exclude all but C:\ when running a normal scan, but can't find a way to scan ONLY the C:\ partition with the automatic background scan.

Since G:\ & V:\ are a HDD I don't want constant scanning degrading the drive condition.

Since my ~350 GB email, eBooks and projects storage is on D:\ I want those excluded as well. Anyone help?

I run a manual scan of the entire system once a week and the AV, VPN and Adguard is always active.

I am trying the Free AV, but unless the Basic AV has the option for "selective background scans" I'm going to look at Bitdefender, etc.

I have no need for the other functions in the more advanced KS products as I  have Unlimited Superfast VPN, Data Leak Checker, Identity Protection in other paid products.

Expert Virus Check & Removal I do myself and have since Windows 3.11.
