How do I restore/reinstall the Kaspersky Protection Extension on Edge Chromium?

Hello, new here.

 

Accidentlally deleted the Kaspersky Protection Extension on Chromium Edge. Been trying to get it back but I can’t seem to find any option to install it. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Hello @Forgemaster,

Welcome!

  • Edge Chromium version 83.0.478.56, the Kaspersky Protection extension, must be installed, see images 2, 3, 4, 5
  • In Edge Chromium edge://extensions/, make sure Allow extensions from other stores is ON - image 1
  • The How to enable the extension in Edge based on Chromium, documentation shows a grey Kaspersky icon, this is wrong, if the Kaspersky Protection is correctly installed, and enabled, the icon will be green - image 6

Hey, thanks for the reply.

So with regards to this, instead of clicking “Enable extention”, I accidentally pressed “remove Extension”, and now I cannot find it anywhere else to install it.

Do you happen to know how to retrieve it? Oddly enough, it isn’t popping up on CHrome web store.

The link KasperskyProtection extension in our 1st reply and the instructions will guide you to reinstall the extension.

  1. Open Edge Chromium browser.
  2. In Edge Chromium browser → edge://extensions/, make sure Allow extensions from other stores is ON - see image1 above
  3. Select Kaspersky Protection extension → this is the extension, from the Chrome webstore. 
  4. Select Add to Chrome → see following image

 

 

After reinstalling the Kaspersky Protection extension, make sure it’s enabled.

Hi,

Im on edge version 90.0.818.66 and my extension is greyed out and not working.

Can anyone help

Also, Microsoft Edge Beta Build 90.0.818.66, Kaspersky does not support beta versions of any software.

@Huskey_17 Only FYI , the Kaspersky extensions works under Edge Chromium  90.0.818.66

This is the extension version I have.

Also the build of edge is not beta, at least according to my page.

  1. Which Kaspersky application version & patch(x), is installed → on Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About

  1. Kaspersky Protection extension version 20/30.390.42.1 is the wrong version for KIS 21.3.10.391(b). 
  2. Version 1.6.9.0 updated 18 May 2021 is required. 
  3. Uninstall 20/30.390.42.1.
  4. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not restart, power on, login.
  5. Using the documented procedure, How to install the extension in Edge based on Chromium, install 1.6.9.0 from the Chrome web store. 

Let us know the outcome please?
