Getting Red Shield with white ! on task bar, but no items red when application launched

Does anyone know why I would be getting Red Shield with white ! on task bar, but no items red or yellow when application launched. I see Green check shield after application launched. 

I am using Windows 11 now was recently upgraded. 

Edition    Windows 11 Pro
Version    21H2
Installed on    ‎1/‎26/‎2022
OS build    22000.469
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.469.0

  • Sometimes a red shield may mean there’s an update waiting🤔 . 
  1. Which KTS version & patch(x), x= letter, is installed, rightclick the red icon, select About
  2. What are the 2 recommendations → select Details
  3. Since installing KTS, has the computer been rebooted?

Thank you for the information!

  1. When was KTS installed?
  2. If the mouse is hovered over the red icon, is there any relevant information? 
  3. In the Windows information center, are there any KTS events
  4. In KTS Reports, are there any related events - open KTS, select More tools, select Reports, filter the period since KTS has been installed using the Time/Calendar (1. in our image), search all Reports (2. in our image)

     

     
  5. Check Windows Event viewer for any unusual events?

I managed to figure out the cause. All of the “Essential Threat Protection” were turned off. I turned them all back on and now I have Green Check mark and shield on task bar. I have no idea why they were disabled but happy it is resolved.

  1. That’s most unusual🤔. (ioo), for this type of issue, it’d be *helpful* if the main interface of the GUI, showed an alert/Recommendation/Notification….
