Yes this is an extreme regression -- it's a bit sad as I trusted Kaspersky on this and it turns out that VPN as perhaps now an equally important place in my setup than malware protection... Time to move on. Lesson learned, you want a decent service --> get that service ONLY and avoid cheap bundled offloaded offers to possibly changing for worst underdogs providers..

EDIT: router option IS essential here and why I went for that...

They said the new "upgraded" Kaspersky VPN doesn't work in Russia, and offered to give me a free license for a Russia-specfic Kaspersky VPN

After installing their new VPN, I discovered that it has only 8 available locations!!!

And none of these locations enable you to access Facebook, YouTube or any websites unavailable in Russia

This is really hilarious

Yeah let's be clear, they haven't made lots of friends out of this. Talking positively about anything technology related these days is hard, Kaspersky was on my list -- this proven to be a cheap & reputation hitting move in my regards.

So long !

What's really more hilarious is that I asked them for a refund, and they just refused, claiming that my 30-days trial period has already passed, although they're the ones who breached the contract by decreasing the services provided and failure to provide any decent VPN coverage in Russia!!!

So, I will never use any of their products again

Same experience, same refund denied.

User for years, renewed happily about 40 days before they announced the change to this dreadful, useless provider.

I was denied a refund because of course, I've been paying for years and it was 40 days after I paid when they decided to switch so I guess it's bad luck for not aligning my renewal date when I started paying years ago with the timelines they had to destroy their service.

The server I used every day for years is gone and I literally can't get an e-mail or whatsapp message with the VPN when literally 8 hours of my life are receiving e-mails and whatsapp messages but hey, I guess I can be salty for another 10 months about paying for a year of something and losing my money.

I just feel bad for the moderators and customer support people having to deal with way less patient customers than the people posting in a civil way in this forum.

@K team

Again, I'm sorry to say so but this shift wasn't a very wise one. The features downgrade as well as location downgrade are in my point of view unacceptable -- end users have absolutely nothing to gain here and as expressed by a lot of us; a lot to lose. One of the potential explanation I computed could be that you've been "requested" to quit the Pango infrastructure -- that would be a good and clear explanation which we'd all understand and even hint us at services not to use, if so, let us know.

In what regards myself, I shifted everything that previously connected over kVPN to a newly selected with care provider. In terms of performance and configuration ease/options, I'm not looking back. My advise to anyone around electing a new service; read the details, get to understand the philosophy of your newly chosen "partner", check their blogs entries, try to clear the marketing BS away and find human written items that will show you who's behind the service and what are their approach toward their customers -- I need someone that protect my interests first as a paid customer.

I won't ask for a refund as I'm still using and licking the endpoint protection part which I can share with peers/family according to my licensing scheme. Although, for the VPN, I'm afraid but I'm out.

Hello,

I'd like some updates since I changed my router exclusively for the Router VPN feature.

I knowt he feature is gone... I wrote the costumer service and got a reply where they state that as many users are complaining maybe the feature will be coming back.

There has been a period where also che vpn client wasn't working (now that seems fixed) - In the meanwhile what to do? Does anyone knows if the router thing is coming back?

Hello @leeks

Welcome back!

  1. Please share the incident request number that was provided by Kaspersky for the request you raised - it's prefixed with INC0000

Thank you🙏

↓ This is the official announcement from KL ↓

" At this time, installing the updated solution on a router (and Double VPN) is not available, but this option is in the product development plans. "

For God's sake, re-add the "Catapult Hydra"  protocol.

True to your word, I was contacted by a technical support representative, who cancelled my subscription and I got a full refund 4 days later. So, thank you, Igor, for keeping your promise and for conveying my concerns to technical support
