External Device Scan doesn’t detected to be selected for external device scan. Manual selection, they don’t appear under external device scan

Recommended Posts

External USB devices connected to the PC doesn’t detected to be selected for external device scan. ALso when manually selected for the scan they don’t appear under external device scan section.

So user doesn’t know which files currently under scan.

I am using Kaspersky total Security version 20.0.14.1085

Hello @akshay_as

Welcome!

The issue has previously been raised with Kaspersky Technical Support, no answer has been forthcoming🤔

  1. How is Scan external devices on connection configured?
  • Please log a case with Kaspersky Technical Support, select Application malfunction template (see example below), include images, detailed history, Traces & a GSI & Windows Logs; also include a video; it will help the support Team understand the issue.
  • After submitting the case, you’ll receive an automated email with an INC+12digits reference number, then, normally, within 5 business days, a Kaspersky Technical Support human will communicate with you, also by email, you may continue to engage with the Kaspersky Technical Team via email or by updating the INC in your MyKaspersky account.
  • Please share the outcome with the Community when it’s available?

Thank you🙏

Hello @FLOOD

I think this issue need know what’s the disk type of the access device. If it is a removalble drive, AVP need inform user to scan if user enable scaning removable disk. If it is a disk drive like this, I think No prompt is correct. The operating system did not recognize this device as a removable disk. There is no reason that avp needs to correctly identify the type of connected disk device.

Regards.

Hello Wesly,

Thank you🙂 !

  • KTS is not recognising external devices, irrespective of the “type”, that why the Kaspersky Technical expert team have raised a bug and are releasing a fix, yet to be tested by impacted users.

Thank you🙏
