Event ID 7006: ScRegSetValueExW access denied

After installing KIS, my event viewer posts this message on each boot up:

Event ID 7006  -- The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for Start with the following error:
Access is denied.

Is this caused by KIS self-protection?   Is there a bug somewhere?

Hello @Mark J

Welcome!

  1. Is Event ID 7006 - The ScRegSetValueExW  in Event viewer category: Application, Security, Setup, System, somewhere else?
  2. Go to one Event ID 7006 - The ScRegSetValueExW, click or double click, select Details, copy & paste the error details to a text document, attach📎 to your reply please?
  3. What is the operating system name, version & build?
  4. Does the computer meet KIS System Requirements?
  5. Was any other AV software installed prior to KIS?
  6. Before installing KIS was a software compatibility check run?
  7.  Open KIS, select More Tools, select Reports, select Detailed Reports, select All Events, select 24hrs, export the Report, attach📎 to your reply please?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

Hello,

The reason for this behavior is that the self-defense of KIS/KAV/KTS product doesn’t allow services.exe to config AVP services failureactions value. I think this is by designed.

Maybe KL could set a hook to hide this behavior report.

Regards.
