I have a problem with the certificates of all websites (google, amazon, university) except facebook. the error that appears to me says:

"this certificate or the chain of certificates are based on an untrusted root center”

the problem exists only when i connect my pc (italian) to the wired network of the research center where i work (Ireland). if i use a wifi it does not show and i can use the web normally.

since the wifi connection is nonexistent here i need the possibility to use the wired network.

i’m using: Microsoft Windows 10 home x64 Build 18362

kaspersky: 18.0.0.405 (l)

Hello  @carlotta.penone,

Welcome!

  1. Do the "this certificate or the chain of certificates are based on an untrusted root center” errors happen irrespective of browser used?
  2. Have the "this certificate or the chain of certificates are based on an untrusted root center” errors just started or always existed?
  3. May I ask, are you using KIS v18.0.0.405 by choice?
  4. Do all Windows updates have a “successfully applied” status?
  5. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled KIS?

Please let me know?

Thank you🙏

Many thanks for your reply!

  1. yes, it does
  2. the problem arises when I connect to the wired network of the research centre in which I’m working. I started Monday and when I connected the cable the problem started. If I use the wifi connection at home all the browser work fine.
  3. I uninstalled and reinstalled KIS. I now have KIS 20.0.14.1085
  4. as for the windows updates yes

Unfortunately now I’m home so I won’t know if the reinstalling was successful until Monday.

I will let you know then.

again, thank you very much for your help!

Hello @carlotta.penone,

You’re very welcome👌

Thank you for replying, the information & updating KIS👏

When you’re at work, if the issue repeats, could you please also raise the issue with the resident Research Tech Support person, and let me know what they advise please?

&

If the issue persists, it will be necessary (for you) to also raise with Kaspersky Technical Support, for this, I’ll update your Topic based on the information you provide.

Thank you🙏
