I have Total Security 2020 and I opted at installation time for a Secure Connection. All seemed to work ok and I used to be told where the VPN server was.

About 2 months ago I had router problems and I was suspecious that KTS might be involved so I uninstalled it.  It took 2 weeks before things were back to normal and I reinstalled KTS.

After re-installing I was no longer told which country my VPN connection was with.  I decided I would live with this but with the absence of this information I was no longer sure that I did have a VPN connection.

Today, I was roaming around the KTS installation and I was presented with an update screen to use a Premium VPN Connection.  Alas, my finger pressed the wrong button and I now have a premium Connection that I don’t need.  I have not entered my Activation Code.

Please, could someone in Kaspersky reset my VPN connection to “Secure”?

Thankyou.

Hello @BigRedSwitch,

Welcome!

Kaspersky Total Security license includes Kaspersky Secure Connection Free

There are 2 versions of Kaspersky Secure connection: Free & Premium, both are secure.

The free version of VPN Secure Connection is limited to 200 Mb of encrypted traffic per day (300 Mb if the device is connected to My Kaspersky) for an unlimited number of devices and one automatically-chosen remote virtual server.

The premium version provides unlimited traffic for five devices and a choice of many remote virtual servers, for a month or a year, depending on the subscription.

The only way to have Kaspersky Secure Connection Premium is to have paid a separate subscription, additional to the Kaspersky Total Security license fee, it’s not possible to press a button & automatically have Kaspersky Secure Connection Premium without paying for it.

Thank you🙏

Hello to Flood and his wife.

You have jogged my memory - I recall now about the 200Mb limit and, thinking this a bit small for two pc’s and a mobile, I opted for a paid increase.  My concern is that Kaspersky may try to recover the cost of my unintended switch to Premium by direct debit.  I don’t remember how I paid for KTS initially.

Having said that, I think I’m covered by the UK’s 14-day distance selling regulation but I hope I don’t have to go there

Hello @BigRedSwitch

Please contact the Kaspersky Support Team, on the Support page, select Country, select Support for Home Products, select Chat with an Expert, the LiveChat window opens, fill in Name = email address, Email address (yes a duplication😕 ), select Kaspersky Secure ConnectionActivation code - it’s ok to enter NAProblem description - it’s ok to enter NA, select New issue and accept✔ the TOU & Privacy consent box, see the following image to guide you, also, when you start the chat, select  the 3 tiny horizontal dots in the top left hand corner, then select Send transcript, so you receive an email with the full transcript record:

The other alternative is to call Support or log a request via your MyKaspersky account.

Before you contact Support, please ensure you have the purchase information, email address used when the purchase was made, if you have the order number, invoice number & activation code that will help.

If we can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to post back?

Thank you🙏
