DNS address can't be found when using the VPN

When using the VPN I can't access any web sites.  I get an error: DNS address could not be found.  This happens with any VPN server.  If the VPN is off, every site can be accessed normally.  I have a trouble ticket with Kaspersky, but they haven't responded.  The VPN works on my other computers, just not a laptop.  Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

Which browser are you using?
Is 'DNS over HTTPS' activated in it?
If so, please disable it and try again.
