I am currently running on a 10 copy, 3 year Kaspersky Internet Security license on Windows 10 that expires in 8 days.  I have purchased a 1 system, 1 year license.  What is the best way to activate this new version of KIS?

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

In theory, if You add the license code to the K. device, it will auto activate after ending the current license, but I personally wait until the last moment to add the new license.

When you say "last moment", do you mean the final day (ie expiration day - 1) ? If so, what hour of the day (and what time zone) does Kaspersky use as the expiration?   Thank you for your thoughts.

Yes, or 1 day before the expiration ? time zone would be Yours country region, of course.

Following the expiration date, I received an activation error.  I was told by KIS support that the code I was given had already been used!  I uninstalled KIS.  Then the  company I bought it from provided another activation code that was successful following an install of the Global KIS 1 copy, 1 yr version
