Can't send email with VPN on.

I have Kaspersky Premium.  I now can't send emails from Outlook with VPN on.  They stay in 'Outbox'  Any suggestions?

In some cases an ISP cannot identify his own SMTP server and is refusing outgoing traffic , please add Your email client to the Split Tunneling exclusion ?

Thanks Berny - I'm giving that at try.  (Although, one would have thought that email would be one of the apps that would benefit most from VPN protection!)  Marcus
