I cannot access my email sever after installing KIS - “connection was reset” errors. It could be a certificate exception. If so, how can I fix this?

@Harper, show a screenshot of the error, please.
Do you use a mail client or connect to the mail server via a web-interface?
Also write the full version of the KIS.

I’m using the Thunderbird mail client. KIS 2021. I can now connect after continuing from a certificate warning. Need to save the certificate exception so that I don’t get the warning.

You have to add in NetWoek → to Encrypted Connection Scanning Exclusions, Your email servers...

A screenshot would be handy in this situation. 

Mozilla applications use their own certificate store, in some situations, it helps to select the option “Use Mozilla certificate store” option (see screenshot below) and install the certificate manually:
