Can the owner of my subscription access any information other than Device name?

Hello

I bought subscription of Kaspersky Premium Internet Security from a third party for 3 devices and for two years

they have provided me access to their company subscription i presume using my email.

i downloaded the app and in settings I seen the phrase "Protect up to 20 device with your subscription" under the phrase are 4 out of 20 device registered.

I asked them to provide the subscription via a serial number but they said it is better to send an invitation via email because this the subscription is preserved and can continue in case i formatted the Device.

so my questions are:

Can the owner of my subscription access any information other than Device name? also can they tamper with my device in any way?

also can i really add two more device using my email as they said?, or im going to need to go back to them and ask them to add two more devices using their invitation method?

Thank you for your time and efforts and apology for the lack of fluent English.

Hello @lak

Welcome!

(Your) English is fine, no apology necessary, do not worry!

First, please allow us to clarify some of the information, so the answers provided can be accurate:

  • A. (You've) purchased a Kaspersky Premium *Internet* subscription, however Kaspersky does not sell Kaspersky Premium *Internet*, the Kaspersky Premium product is called Kaspersky Premium Total Security - please share the site OR link/URL of the purchase site so we can check the details of the subscription?
  • B. Is the company (you've) purchased the subscription from sharing the *same* subscription with *other* subscribers - those *other subscribers may be *unknown* to you?
  • C4 out of 20 device registered -> indicates the subscription *owner* has purchased a 20 device subscription - allocating 1 device for their subscription & has shared 3 devices with (you).
  • D. The *shared* Kaspersky Premium subscription has a license code that's held in the MyKaspersky account of the primary subscriber. When the primary subscriber (owner of the subscription) *shares* the subscription they do so by *inviting* other users via the recipients email address - for example: IF we were to share our subscription with you, we would go to our MyKaspersky account, go to Subscriptions tab, go to Share protection & enter (your) email address and (your) name & send the invitation: the name will be used in an invitation that will be sent by email.

Please read: Shared protection, open *Reveal hidden contents* to see all of the library

To answer (your) questions:

  1. Yes, the owner of the subscription can perform *some* remote management of computer protection via their account on MyKaspersky, for example, the subscription owner can view information about the security status of the devices, remotely start a scan on the devices, renew the subscription. Summarized information about the security of devices with shared protection is displayed in the Overview section.

The subscription owner does not have access to bank cards or other private data of users, with whom they have shared subscription. The subscription owner may receive notifications if a child used one of the devices with the shared subscription, so they can try the Kaspersky Safe Kids solution for protecting children.

  2. IF the subscription owner told (you) in an email that (you) can add two more devices & the *4 out of 20 device registered* indicates the number of devices allocated - then it appears as tho the information is correct - try to add the two more devices, IF it doesn't work go back to the subscription owner.

Thank you🙏
