Hello  @Wronschien,

You’re very welcome!

Thank you for the information, yes it does help👏

The browsers Waterfox, Firefox Nightly and Vivaldi are not supported by Kaspersky, for the Kaspersky Protection extension you must use supported browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox versions 52.x – 65.x
  • Mozilla Firefox ESR 52.x, 60.x
  • Google Chrome versions 48.x – 72.x
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0

Regarding “the icon wouldn’t show if it wasn’t enabled”?

The icon may show, as it does in your image, however, it will not function, also the shield may be grey, as it is in your image, not green.

Thank you🙏

Oh I was hopping it would work in Firefox Nightly or Vivaldi at least, as they’s based off Friefox and Chrome.

Well too bad but thank you

I cannot understand why the Kaspersky extension does not works on Waterfox, as it is essentially the Firefox with some privacy improvements.

Hello @Druida,

Welcome!

🚫Why the extension does not work? 🚫

  • Because Kaspersky does not support Waterfox.

Browsers that support the Kaspersky Protection extension:

  • Mozilla™ Firefox™ 52.x–65.x and later*
  • Mozilla™ Firefox™ ESR 52.x–60.x and later*
  • Google Chrome™ 48.x–72.x and later*
  • Microsoft Edge based on Chromium version 77.0.235.25 and later*
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 *
  • Internet Explorer versions 8.0–11.0 in the new Windows interface style are not supported. Automatic installation of the extension in the browser is not supported on Windows 10.

*Support of newer versions of these browsers is possible, but not guaranteed in full.

@FLOOD,

Waterfox and Firefox are the same software.

If an extension works in Firefox, should work in Waterfox.

It is possible to install the Kaspersky extension in Waterfox without any problem, but its icon indicates the extension is not working.

In fact, seems at least part of the Kaspersky extension is working properly in Waterfox, as can be seen below, where the extension blocked the access (“download blocked”)  to a suspicious website:

This is something Kaspersky can workout easily.

Hello @Druida,

  • ⚠ The extension is not working because Waterfox is not supported by Kaspersky

  • *Support of newer versions of these browsers is possible, but not guaranteed in full.
  • ❎ Kaspersky protection extension, installs into many non-supported browsers, installing does not mean the extension will work❎
  • 🚫 The download blocked alert is not due to the extension🚫
  • If you’d like Kaspersky to support Waterfox, raise a request with Kaspersky Technical Support - use Feedback, I have a suggestion template
  • After submitting the case, you’ll receive an automated email with an INC+12digits reference number, then, normally, within 5 business days, a Kaspersky Technical Support human will communicate with you, also by email, you may continue to engage with the Kaspersky Technical Team via email or by updating the INC in your MyKaspersky account.
  • Please note: product development changes and additions are assessed against many benchmarks, the processes may take time, sometimes a long time & not all requests are facilitated.

 Thank you🙏
