An outdated laptop is unable to process or incorporate the most recent database updates.

I may have already found the answer to my own question.

My 2011 MacBook Air is running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6, and it's unable to update to a more recent MacOS version. I recently noticed that it's running Kaspersky version 20.0.0.829a.b.c.d.e, which is labeled as the "latest version." However, when I attempt to update it, the last update was on February 27, 2023, but the databases were last released on December 19, 2022. It seems that my MacBook Air is not able to accept the newer databases.

In contrast, my iMac, which is only 12 months old and runs MacOS Ventura 13.2.1, is running Kaspersky version 21.1.0.150a.b.c.d.e.f.g. The latest update on the iMac was also on February 27, but it shows a time of 18:24 (3 hours ago).

So, does this mean I'm stuck with a Kaspersky database that cannot be updated because my MacBook Air's MacOS cannot be upgraded beyond 10.13.6?
