  1. Hello again, 1. Im running windows 11 pro 2. i have looked though the events log and cant see anything for redirectedhwndhost 3. I cant add a video because the video format isnt supported, however. its isnt wallpaper engine its just when i first spotted it my main background was a light one and my wallpaper engine was a dark one, its ANY dark background. if i use a light wallpaper background it cant be seen, but as they get darker its more obvious. using any background on my old 1440p monitor it wasnt visable. but now that i have a 4k hdr one it is, its stange how changing monitors has made this problem (my wallpaper was the same on both monitors) 4.the impact is, its bloody ugly, when kaspersky is open the redirectedhwndhost is visible even when in full screen. however any other app open its not visible until you go back to the desktop or come out of full screen. 5. no one has replied in steam. 6. i have reinstalled windows fully, so naturally i have reinstalled steam. 7. i haven't added any exclusions this time but i did when running windows 10 if i close kaspersky it goes away, then when i restart it some times it come back and others i can be hours or not at all untill next start up
  2. sorry for the later reply AGAIN, im not getting notifications. im from the UK I have since updated to windows 11 (fresh install) and the problem is still there Just updated to windows 11 22H2 for x64 systems Im using kaspersky free 21.8.5.452, if i close down kaspersky free and restart it again the problem goes away some times and doesn't come back
  3. hi sorry for the late reply. i cant seem to find what version and patch, tried following the link and it doesn't look the same. think its kaspersky 21.6 windows 10 version 21h2 cant find anything relating to the problem all this is kaspersky stuff hope that helps, that was also a thread i started on steam
  4. as titled this is caused by my antivirus. i cant see why its doing it BUT its only ever visible when using a programme called wallpaper engine from steam. i have since added the programme to my trusted apps and i will see how it goes
