When is the Spam Filter in Outlook going to be reinstated in Kaspersky 2019.

Recommended Posts

When is the Spam Filter in Outlook going to be reinstated in Kaspersky 2019. It was a valuable tool and great for managing the many Outlook spam emails that get through the usual filters. If it is not going to be reinstated I'll have to look for another internet security product.

A Kaspersky Tech Support response on the subject:

"We would like to inform you that with the introduction of the 2019 version, the Anti-Spam plugin in all versions of Outlook has been discontinued. That is why you no longer see it and even a re-installation would not not work, it is by design. The reasons behind this decision are the decline in the number of customer using this feature and the fact that the majority of them use web-based email services. Bear in mind that this is the only change. The remaining parts of Anti-Spam will still be operating as usual (the component will be scanning and checking network traffic for spam). Mail Anti-Virus and its plugin were left intact, everything remains the same. Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause."

It seems that Kaspersky is out of touch with its users. There is much being said on the web about the decision to remove Anti-Spam. There is so much spam being generated these days that much gets though my email service and into my Outlook. I have rolled back my Kaspersky to a version that still includes Anti-Spam and it is picking up emails that I have trained Kaspersky to mark as spam.  Please listen to your users and switch it back on in the current and future versions.
