When in safe money keyboard typing jargon

Go to solution Solved by Flood and Flood's wife,

I have just tried to do a google search while in the safe money browser however the letters that I typed did not resemble the letters that appeared in the search bar! Complete jargon.

I recently did a full scan and found 2 trojan ransom ware files on my computer which I naturally deleted. Could this have interfered with my computer and is there any chance that they are still there hiding somewhere?

I don’t know how long these trojans were on my computer because they were only picked up when I did the full scan which is a bit of a worry.

I have my suspicions on how they got on my computer.

Hello @LadyBeetle,

Welcome back☺ !

  1. Which KIS version & patch is installed?
  2. Which browser is the SafeMoney browser?
  3. Have any system default apps been changed or modified (by you)?
  4. Are the (deleted) trojans showing in the KIS Reports, if “yes” please export the Report & attach📎 to your reply? ( so we can see if they may be related).
  5. Are there any new extensions or addons in the SafeMoney browser?
  6. Have you refreshed/reset the SafeMoney Browser?
  7. Has KIS been exited & restarted? If “no” please do so.
  8. Has the computer been shutdown and restarted?  If “no” please do so.
  9. May we have a video of the “typed letters jargon” and a note of what letters were actually typed please?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

Hi Flood,

Just a thought.

After I found those ransom ware trojans I downloaded Hitman pro Alert to ensure these trojans were gone.

Hitman is supposed to be a second check program and I did search to see if it was ok if running this would interfere with Kaspersky. I do have the 2 running on an old computer with no issues. Maybe this Alert one is the problem.

Thank You
Ladybeetle ☺

Hello @LadyBeetle,

  1. Are there any new extensions or addons in the Chrome browser?
  2. Have you refreshed/reset the SafeMoney Browser?
  3. Remove HitmanPro. Alert
  4. Exit KIS and restart.
  5. Shutdown computer & restart.
  6. Recheck typed text corruption.

Let us know the outcome please?

Thank you🙏

Ok Flood,

Thankfully the safe money is now not typing jargon with Hitman gone.

Sadly though the safe money is not operating again as before and the only way for me to access it is by typing in one of the URLs that has been added to safe money.

The shortcut is not working either. 🙁

Thanks Ladybeetle

Hi Flood,

Yes I do thanks.

I will slowly go through this again.

Can I just run something else past you please?

I bought a new computer and downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security.

When I went to use the onscreen keyboard I couldn’t get the cursor to work.

It got stuck and the letters were showing green jumping all over the place as if I was clicking on them.

I deleted the Kaspersky and re-installed it but it continued to do this.

Completely clean new computer. Nothing on it other than firefox.

I use the computer onscreen keyboard as it is impossible to use the Kaspersky onscreen keyboard.

Thanks Ladybeetle 🐞

Hello @LadyBeetle,

Thank you🙏

Unfortunately, there’s a known issue/bug, in hand with Kaspersky experts/developers, Kaspersky’s Onscreen keyboard does not play nice with all touchpads, no eta on a fix atm😖
The solution they’ve advised, either don’t use Kaspersky’s Onscreen keyboard or use a mouse to manage it.

Thank you🙏

  • Solution

Hello @LadyBeetle,

For “safe money not operating again & safemoney shortcut missing” do the following:

  1. Exit SafeMoney browser and all other browsers
  2. Create a Restore point.
  3. KIS, Pause protection.
  4. Exit KIS.
  5. Run Windows in SafeMode
  6. Copy C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\SafeBrowser to the desktop.
  7. Delete C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\SafeBrowser
  8. Return to Normal mode
  9. Uninstall KIS, save License information only, do not select any other options; include a Shutdown at the completion of the uninstall.
  10. Download & clean install KIS, follow the instructions carefully.
  11. After the install, the Database update & the Scan, recheck if Safe Money browser is working?
  12. Create shortcut for Safe Money

Let us know if both issues are resolved?

Thank you🙏

Hello @LadyBeetle,

Yep, the above process is simpler ‘cause last time we fixed a few more things🙂

  • There’s no need to delete the new installer, just follow steps 1 to 9, then follow the KIS install, with the downloaded KIS installer & the install documentation that is a part of step 10 and continue on with the remainder of the steps.

Please let us know the outcome?

Thank you🙏
