what files does KIS for the Mac scan in real-time. Are .zip file and DMG files scanned real-time?

I notice that real-time scanning of malicious test files does not appear to occur for .zip files or DMG files. Why is that?

  1. (please) Read before you create a new topic!
  2. If the DMG & .zip files are individually scanned, is a result reported?
  3. File extension detail is not covered in the documentation: 

Please log a case with Kaspersky support, either via Chat or Email, fill in Application malfunction, Other template (that’s the closest ‘generic template that may apply); support may request logs, traces & other data, they will advise you. 

  • If selecting Chat option, we recommend you request a copy of the chat transcript, make sure you fill in your email address AFTER the chat is activated by the Chat agent & complete the Verify your email address email AFTER the chat completes.
  • When it’s available, please share the outcome with the Community?

Thanks. Those articles are indeed helpful, but don’t address the question I posed. I’ll wait to see what other responses I may receive before I trouble the folks at Kaspersky support.

We’ve also searched the Community for similar issues, there’s a couple, but OS Windows related & none of them informational. 

@Danila T. is the Kaspersky/macOS specialist in the Community, he may join the topic, especially now as we’ve pinged him😉

But, logging a case is a good thing to do as well!!
