rootkit scan not working

It has been 7 days since the rootkit scan stopped working and it used to do it everyday. Also the vulnerability scan gets stuck at 50%. I feel there might be a virus/malware although when I do a full scan it doesn't show anything. I downloaded what might have been an unsafe file and next day these problems started. Any help much appreciated. I have KIS 20.0.14.1085
