Persistent "Computer reboot is required" warning

OS = Windows 10 21H2 (OS build 19044.1586)

Kaspersky product = Kaspersky Internet Security version 21.3.10.391(h)

After the last application update I continue to get this warning (and a similar message in a tooltip on the system tray icon) despite many, many evening shutdowns and morning restarts since the update.

Version shown in the tooltip and in the popup after clicking the Support icon both show the above version.

How can I be rid of this annoyance?

Hello @Karlston

Welcome!

  1. Has Reboot been selected at any stage
  2. Has a full shutdown, using the Shutdown option, not Restart & physically pressing the power button ON been done since the notification appeared?

Please let us know?

Thank you?

I've never clicked on the KIS Reboot button because for every previous application update the normal evening shutdown (using the Shutdown Start menu option) and next morning power-on (pressing the power button, it's a desktop PC) has satisfied KIS's Reboot need. After that next morning power-on, KIS has always completed whatever it needed to do to finish any pending application update.

After my defence above , I did click the KIS Reboot button and it did finish the update. No Warning now and the version incremented to 21.3.10.391(i)

Has Kaspersky changed this so that shutdown/power-on is not good enough any more to complete an application update? Or was it just a bug in the update from h to i? :classic_tongue:

Thanks for your help.

Hello @Karlston

You're most welcome!

Thank you for posting back & the information, we're glad the update to 21.3.10.391(i) has completed successfully, well done ?, we're delighted the issue is resolved?‍♂️

The process is as follows, version & patch updates arrive silently, they sit waiting for 7 days/168hours, for the computer to be Shutdown, if after the 7 days, that has not happened, or if there's been a "glitch", the reboot notifications you've seen will be displayed; the process has been like this for a very long time.

Thank you?
