Hide behind your contract… etc, etc. Mac Big Sur is an operating system and you should be also testing.

Hello @ahoodnick

  • Kindly remember the Community is made up of users of Kaspersky software (like you), all who give their time freely, to help other Community members (like you). There's a small team of Kaspersky employees - all of whom are clearly identifiable, bc, their profile shows "Kaspersky Lab Employee". For the most part, & from our observations, the willing helpers engage in providing technical analysis to address technical issues.
  • As you have a Kaspersky software subscription, log a case with Kaspersky Technical Support, follow the Feedback, I have a complaint template, (for Mac System info select the most recent version available):

  • After submitting the case, you’ll receive an automated email with an INC+12digits reference number, then, normally, within 5 business days, a Kaspersky Technical Support human will communicate with you, also by email, you may continue to engage with the Kaspersky Technical Team via email or by updating the INC in your MyKaspersky account.

Kindly share the outcome with the Community when it’s available?

Thank you🙏

Hello @Sectre@GazzaPro@ralvarezmart@stephan1827@Orange Group Tech@ahoodnick@Rabbit

Despite the fact Kaspersky have published  KIS21 macOS 11.0 Big Sur is now supported, according to @Igor Kurzin, that does NOT mean BIG SUR is actually supported, simply because BIG SUR has still not been commercially released.

Go figure.

Don’t bother trying to make your BIG SUR systems work with KIS21.

We’d like to say the next time the documentation say’s  KIS21 macOS 11.0 Big Sur is now supported it will mean BIG SUR is NOW supported, however, based on the above, we’re not at all confident that we can rely on the official documentation.

Reference topic: Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac, Important, link resolves to PNF, 404

Thank you🙏

Hello @Rabbit

That’s good, thank you for being proactive👌

Don’t be surprised if Kaspersky Technical Support tell you the reason for “The installation doesn't start. The program can’t open. Error -1” issue, is because Kaspersky does not support operating systems that have not been commercially released, despite the fact they’ve published official help documentation stating KIS21 macOS 11.0 Big Sur is now supported.

Maybe, when Kaspersky actually does support BIG SUR they will update this topic🤔

Thank you🙏

Hello @Rabbit
Yes, we understand, BUT, according to the advice from Kaspersky @Igor Kurzin , BIG SUR is NOT supported, irrespective of what Kaspersky’s OFFICIAL HELP documentation states; so trying to install is pointless.

We’re hoping when Kaspersky officially begin supporting BIG SUR they’ll tell all of us & we’re sure we’ll believe them, because they said so and because we can rely on what they document.

Thank you🙏

Hello again .

i”m unable also to install KIS 2021 into the latest public beta version of MacOS Big Sur . Exactly the same  error as the one described by @Rabbit .

Unless Kaspersky support team could provide us with another installation method or a version which actually works .

Look forward for any news .

Best regards everyone !

Hello, I tried to install KIS 2021 into my MacBook Pro running MacOS BigSur public beta recently released ( Aug 2020 ) and when trying to run the installer, an error shows telling that the Kaspersky installer could not be opened ( -1 error code ). Is there any alternative to run this installer instead of double clicking the file ? Thank you.

Hi @ralvarezmart and all,

This issue will be fixed with patch “a” which is expected by the end of September.

Regards,

Igor

“According to Kaspersky, macOS 11.0 Big Sur is now supported.”

…there is nothing mentioned about a support of macOS 11 & a trial proved, it still doesn’t work

Why is there never a beta version for Mac? It only exists for Windows every time. Including Mac would improve stability for the release version.
