KIS 21.3.10.391 Bocks Outlook 2019 POP3 on Windows 11

Since last update on Saturday January 15th, KIS locks all POP3 connection in Outlook 2019. At the same time KIS has blocked the HTTPS connection to signal.com.

In Outlook all my 5 POP3 connection to 5 different mailboxes (i.e. IP addresses) with different protocols and ports (110 and 495) are blocked.

Thuderbird works fine, at least on the 110 port.

I used the Network settings, Trusted addresses to fix the signal.com connection.

I cannot fix the POP3 connections adding trusted address. KIS crashes if I add Outlook to trusted applications.

Under Mail anti-virus, Advanced settings, unchecking the POP2, SMTP, IMAP scans traffic does not resolve the issue.

 

I can only disable KIS to get the emails.

Thank you, we will request some additional information and move on from there. 

As a workaround try to set protection scope to “Incoming messages only” - will it help? Restart Outlook and check. 

If not, does it help to disable Mail AV?

No, it doesn’t. Looks like the problem is in the port/network control, not just in the mail-scan.

Under “Network settings” if you set it to “Do not scan encrypted connections” - how will it go?

Same result: blocked. POP3 is not an encrypted connection, mostly...

Okay, what helps? Disable Web AV, Firewall, etc, which protection component is guilty? 

Under ‘Monitored ports’ you have it set to ‘Monitor selected network ports only’?

With all the components disabled (File, Web, Mail, Network and Firewall) KIS still locks my mail, so I manually disabled the ports 25, 110, 465, 587 and 995. With this configuration Outllook works.
