Is the free version of Kaspersky free forever, and what happens when the program expires?

I used Kaspersky and noticed that the free version has an expiration date. I'm very afraid of the free version expiring.

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

KFree has been stopped (You can't find the installer anymore in official K. sites) in most of the western countries. Still the already installed KFree continues working so far, until when? I don't know...

I was able to install Kaspersky from within my account

Can I update it in the background without checking for updates to the program's main software?

Then I see your KFree has the most up-to-date version 21.24 that was released a few days ago.

Can it be used permanently and updated continuously with ease?

It seems Kaspersky is stopping KFree in some countries.

Has support for the product stopped in Egypt, or is it still supported in Egypt?

Yes, I've used it. I think it's supported in Egypt. There's no ban on it.

Please confirm it's supported in my country. I love Kaspersky.

Please help me, since I'm receiving updates, does that mean I'm supported?

Hi @amralaa

  1. As *Moderator* @harlan4096 already advised - you have the most up-to-date Kaspersky Free version & yes, ATM it's still supported
  2. (You) are one of the lucky ones!
  3. Kaspersky *stopped* Kaspersky Free in many *other* countries.
  4. Don't ask when will it STOP OR will it STOP (in Egypt) - none of us know - Kaspersky never announces that type of information.
  5. ENJOY it while (you) have it! It's WORKING! STOP panicking!
  6. IF (you) want to see it updating & don't want to open the application - on the Windows Taskbar, select Hidden icons, the Kaspersky icon will show a tiny-down-arrow IF there's a Database-update updating. image.thumb.png.e9e0eb4af0445e4e21d6a028e97fcda1.png

It’s likely that the availability will also be removed in the other countries.

Is the system monitor feature in the free version as robust as the paid version for the average person who doesn't have money?

Hello @amralaa

Thank you for posting back!

  1. System Watcher is identical, irrespective of whether the subscription is paid OR free.

Kaspersky does not make a feature in a paid version & the same feature in a free version - Kaspersky releases a *whole* product - IF the subscriber is paid they have access to *all* features, IF the subscriber is free the same product is available BUT some features are limited/locked - the limited/locked features are identified by *crown👑-icon*, the free subscriber may see the features but not be able to access/activate the features, IF the free subscriber selects a limited/locked feature a popup window will display advising the free-subscriber IF they wish to access the feature they must purchase a paid subscription.

Thank you🙏

@amralaa

Despite having fewer available options, K Free receives the most up-to-date virus definitions.

Is the System Watcher full-featured free anti-ransomware feature of the same high quality as the paid version?

Hello @amralaa

  1. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
  2. Do (you) see a 👑crown-icon *blocking* any part of System Watcher - NO! (You're) good to go, no limitations with System Watcher, the System Watcher in the freebie-version is EXACTLY the same as the System Watcher in the paid-version.
  3. As per our last reply, Kaspersky distributes a single-software-package with *different-features* depending on whether OR not the *subscriber* is PAID OR FREE - BUT the CORE software-engine is the SAME.
  4. You've asked this question previously & the answer has been provided - please read your past topics: amralaa, All activity

Thank you🙏

Security Comparison: Kaspersky System Watcher vs. Windows 11 Smart App Control (SAC)

I am on Windows 11 Pro 25H2. Which is technically more robust: staying with Kaspersky for its System Watcher, or reverting to Windows Defender to use Smart App Control (SAC) in "ON" mode?

Does Kaspersky offer a feature that blocks untrusted/unsigned apps before execution as SAC does, or is it strictly behavioral detection? I want the strongest "Zero-Trust" protection.

Hello @amralaa

  1. SAC can run even if Windows Defender is disabled.
  2. Kaspersky products with Zero Trust are designed for *corporate infrastructure* ->READWhat is Zero Trust Security? Key Benefits and How It Works / Never trust, always verify: The Zero Trust security model
  3. Upgrade to a Kaspersky *enterprise-product* such as:  Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security; Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response; Kaspersky Threat Intelligence OR at the very least Kaspersky Premium, keep in mind @amralaa, there's a possibility that Kaspersky will *end* distribution of Kaspersky Free in Egypt - at some stage - just like they've done in other countries -> PLAN for the future, the future is now.

Thank you🙏
