For many locations visible IP does not match selection. For example: Aruba -> IP is in USA, Cyprus -> IP is in Holland, Moscow -> IP in Praha etc. It is really hard to find location which will match with IP provided by VPN. It was not like that before. I think it started a few months back. This totally defeats one majour purpose of VPN. Premium subscription. Both Windows 10 and 11. App ver: 21.25.7.504-2 (a). Updates, reboots do not fix the issue.

Have you try to check the IP geolocation in IP2Location?

Posted

Yes. Aruba is in USA. According to Kasperksy

Is USA your real geographical location ?

I do not see how it matters, but no. Not USA

Support is unreachable by any means. The form is broken, telephone is not there. What kind of crap is it?

I would like to check if this is a temporary regional problem 🤔

It has been like that for months now. Sometimes does not matter, sometimes critical

@Skier

I would like to help you,  but without your real geographical location i am searching in the dark ....

Hello @Skier

  1. Using Maxmind & ip2location we can replicate: Aruba / USA, for us Cyprus is also showing as USA, Moscow = Warsaw, Mazovia, Poland (PL), Europe.
  2. Using Kaspersky Customer Service (GLOBALhttps://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global#contacts - select EMAIL & fill in the template as shown, provide a *detailed-historyimage.thumb.png.eb7cc73379c04f23b2e030c103318644.png                                                             *Note* there's no phone number available on the GLOBAL website.

@Skier

A few important clarifications to avoid confusion:

MaxMind / IP2Location results

These are valid reference tools, but they only show how third-party geolocation databases interpret an IP range. They do not confirm the physical location of a VPN endpoint, nor whether the VPN location is operating as a virtual exit node.

If multiple independent databases consistently map the same VPN IPs to the same incorrect countries, that actually strengthens the conclusion that this is a geolocation registration or infrastructure mapping issue, not a client-side issue.

Browser VPN vs Kaspersky VPN comparison

Testing with another VPN (including browser-based VPNs) is not a reliable control test in this case, because:

Different providers use different IP pools and routing designs

Browser VPNs are usually simplified proxy systems, not full tunnel VPNs

Matching or mismatching locations between providers does not validate correctness

So this does not confirm or rule out a fault in Kaspersky VPN.

“Turn VPN off and test again”

This is useful only for baseline verification of your real IP.

However, it does not help diagnose VPN location accuracy, because the issue being discussed is specifically about VPN exit location mapping, not connectivity.

Core issue being reported

What users are consistently describing is:

Selected VPN country ≠ Geolocated IP country

This usually indicates one of the following at provider level:

Virtual location routing (exit in a different country than labelled)

IP blocks registered in incorrect regions in global databases

Recent infrastructure changes affecting multiple regions

This is not something that can be fixed via local troubleshooting, browser choice, or device resets

Support escalation

If support access is unavailable via forms, the correct path is still official escalation channels via Kaspersky global support:

Kaspersky Support Global Contact Page https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global#contacts

Include:

VPN version

Affected locations

IP output from multiple geolocation services

Time period of issue

In short: the behaviour described is consistent across users and tools, so it should be treated as a service-side routing or geolocation mapping issue rather than an end-user configuration problem.

Hello @prime

Welcome!

We can replicate Beijing China/Houston Texas.

Please log a case - follow the instructions we provided to @Skier on the 20th of June 2026, using the same template, starting with dot-point 2: Kaspersky Customer Service (GLOBALhttps://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global#contacts - select EMAIL & fill in the template as shown, provide a *detailed-history

*The more people who log the issue the greater the possibility it will be given some attention (ioo).

This is a known issue with the Beijing China VPN server , I am landing on virtual location Malaysia. Kaspersky collaborators are watching this Forum.

Update. As of today, the support case has not been resolved. Furthermore, I now see different location services provide different info. The MaxMind.com site they (K-support) insist using seems doing better, but others e.g. whatismyip.com are completely out of whack. The trouble is, if it's wrong in one service, whatever I'm trying to connect to might be using exactly same way to detect IP and I get the boot. Again, I don't recall this issue last year.

Hello @Skier

Thank you for the update!

  1. In (our) experience whatismyip.com - has never been reliable.
  2. In November 2025, seven months ago - Kaspersky began migrating it's vpn infrastructure to a new VPN provider - there's been teething issues with the transition - by now, ioo those should have been resolved, especially with all the alleged oversight by the 'collaborators'.
  3. Have (you) provided the feedback to & requested an update from the team working on (your) request?

Thank you🙏
