ImgSync Attempts to Install at Certain Yahoo! Pages ... [Closed]

Hi. On visiting certain Yahoo! pages, I'm notified that ImgSync wants to download and install on my PC ... Smells like malware ... Is it? Either way, I don't want it installed on my PC. How do I permanently block it? (Using KIS 2019)

  2. What browsers do you use?
  3. Are you only looking for a KIS solution or?
  1. *There's quite a lot of recent info re the issue you've raised and how to manage it*
Please also let us know:
  1. KIS version?
  2. Any other Kaspersky software: names & versions: installed?
  3. Operating system, name, version & build?
  4. Browser/s: name/s, version/s?

Hi FLOOD ... When this happens I am on MS Edge (42.17134.1.0). I'm using KIS 2019 (19.00.1088(f)) on MS Windows 10. Yes, I was looking for a KIS solution. Until about a year ago I used Malwarebytes together w/ KIS; but after MANY years it started to feel like overkill given Malwarebytes' move into anti-virus. From what I see via a google search, it looks as if MS Edge doesn't play with KIS extensions, which is pbbly why I'm seeing the ImgSync installation option ... And it would seem that answers my question :D Thanks for the assist!

Also, in addition to what FLOOD indicates in the post located above this post Smells like some junk on your computer is trying to download more junk. Kaspersky Settings > Additional > Threats and exclusions > Detection types > enable Detect Other Software. and do a databases update > reboot, then do a scan. Clear the contents of your Temp folder, instructions: http://support.kaspersky.com/1161 and then reboot. After that, uninstall any recently installed junk > reboot. After that, uninstall any and all junk toolbars > reboot. Uninstall/disable any and all junk browser add-ons and extensions and plugins in all of your browsers. Remove the junk argument from the target field of the browser shortcut properties. Remove any and all junk search providers in all of your browsers. Then if need be, change your home page, in all of your browsers. How to clean up your browsers: http://support.kaspersky.com/us/viruses/solutions/10319 If you are using a router, reset the router, change the router password to a strong password, enter the correct information according to your internet providers instructions, then clear browser cache and cookies, reboot.
