If upgrading my operating system (complete format of drives), should i revoke my Kaspersky licenses first?

Hi all,

I am upgrading my two home pc’s from windows 7 to windows 10 via a complete format of my c: drive and obviously want to continue using my Kaspersky products on my rebuilt pc afterwards.

So my question is, do i need to first revoke my licenses, rebuild pc and reinstall, or can i just proceed, format my pc and reinstall and reapply my license after on the newly rebuilt pc?

My feeling is that i should be safe to revoke license first, reformat and reinstall operating system, and then reinstall my Kaspersky products and reapply the license. But i want to check before i commit myself ;)

Thoughts?

@captrenchHow to save your Kaspersky license before reinstalling the operating system

Thank you for quick reply!

My devices and licenses are already connected and visible in the My Kaspersky portal. Assuming all the information i need is in my portal, my question is specifically do i need to “disconnect” my device and/or revoke my licenses before i format my pc and install a new operating system.

So whilst the article you linked is relevant, i don’t believe it answers my question specifically.

@captrench, you do not need to disconnect the device or revoke the license.
Before reinstalling the operating system, you can remove the antivirus (but this is not necessary).
After reinstalling the operating system, you will need to download the distribution package from the portal my.kasperky.com and install it. In this case, the program is activated automatically.
