So far I've installed Kaspersky on four devices out of the five I'm entitled to. I would like to give the right to the remaining device to a friend. How do I do that? Does he have to first open his account on My Kaspersky or does everything go through my account?

1. To *share* a Kaspersky subscription - the subscription *owner* uses the Share protection feature. 
2. Both (you) & (your) friend must have (your) *own* MyKaspersky account.
