HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic detected by chrome

Just now the antivirus detected HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic, from what i saw it was from a website that appeared in Google searches,
I didn't even click on it, so I didn't understand.
Was it the Kaspersky Google extension checking all search sites and revealing that it blocked this object?

Am I safe?

Hello @Brazuka

Welcome!

  1. Yes, you are safe.
  2. Kaspersky blocked the Heuristic threat.
  3. 👉Please reset *all* installed browsers back to default settings, follow this guide: How to Restore a Web Browser's Settings
  4. AFTER resetting the browsers, run a database update, then SHUTDOWN the computer, using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power on by pressing the Power button, login, then run a Full System Scan
  5. We've duplicated the issue & sent the detection to Kaspersky's Virus Lab for analysis.  We will update you with their findings when they are availale.

Thank you, just one question, I know that Kaspersky blocked it and I'm safe, but if I didn't have the antivirus, is it possible for this malicious script to infect the PC even without clicking on the link? Or was it just Kaspersky analyzing the search results and reporting the malicious script?

  • Thanks 1
