Hi, here is the info required from the read first list:

Step 1: Operating system and version info.

O/S Version:  Win 11 Pro v25H2 (OS Build 26200.8246)

Step 2: App name and version info.

App Name:  Kaspersky Standard
App Version:  21.25.7.504

Step 3:  Description of issue.

I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security for a while and have been having issues the last month or so, I created a post outlining the issue here (https://forum.kaspersky.com/topic/being-snoozed-with-inability-to-recover-until-entire-system-rebootrestart-58762/) regarding it this morning.

The advice given of switching to the new app client seemed to have worked but now no scan will go past 1% (0 files).  I narrowed it down to the scanning of system memory, if I disable that option they run and complete very quickly if however its enabled as it is by default they get stuck and I cannot cancel the scan, it sits endlessly at 1% 0 files thinking about itself, the only way to get out of it is to reboot/restart the system.  I did find a post referencing a incompatible software checker tool but windows is blocking me from launching or using the tool, even as admin.

I started this thread as I believe since the other was in relation to Kaspersky Internet Security but this issue has arisen with Kaspersky Standard I should keep it in the relevant category.

Any advice on how to get it to scan memory successfully would be appreciated.

Also, how do you have W11 Isolation Core settings enabled or disabled?

Apologies, meant to say I have already done this.

Currently the page is as follows:

"Memory integrity" = On

"Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection" = Off

"Memory access protection" = No toggle or setting, simple a web link describing it.

"Local Security Authority protection" = On

"Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist = On (Also to note, it seems to be greyed out)

Screengrab included for clarity.

@CK1good day, we have released a fix for the described issue. Please update databases in Kaspersky, exit Kaspersky product, start it again and check. If exit does not work, please restart the system.

Just wanted to post back that this resolved the issue I was having, apologies for the delayed reply, I had to use the system uninterrupted for a couple of day so wasn't able to troubleshoot until today and this update happened before I was able to test further, enabling memory testing on quick scan and background scans seem to be working as intended, I haven't had the chance to run a full scan as of yet but I don't imagine the result would be different.  Thank you again all for your assistance everyone.

I had the same issues with Kaspersky on my laptop recently..... And also my Lenovo Vantage software would not carry out system update checks.

The above Kaspersky software update/fix made no difference for me and so after trying uninstalling both Kaspersky and Lenovo Vantage I've rectified both issues by un-installing Microsoft's Window 11 April update/patch. Once that was uninstalled Kaspersky carries out scans normally and the Lenovo Vantage software carries out it's system update checks normally again.

I've paused Windows updates so that the April update doesn't install on my system again.

I've paused Windows updates

Personally I recommend to turn off [ Get Windows updates as soon as they're available for your device ] to block Preview / Bêta updates.

I've never had that option turned on..... It was downloaded and installed automatically by Windows after a month of me not downloading it...... Hence I've paused all Windows updates to stop it just re-downloading and installing now that I've uninstalled it. 😉

This freezing issue, where quick and full scans hang at 1% and fail to progress, is caused by Windows 11 update KB5083631. Once uninstalled, Kaspersky scans return to normal.

For now, the only workaround to resolve the problem is to remove KB5083631 from the system, disable automatic updates, and wait the company investigate the system changes introduced by this KB that are affecting scans and release a fix or update. Alternatively, we may have to wait for Microsoft to release a Windows patch if the issue remains unresolved on their end.

@Berny

But don't these updates automatically apply to Windows after a while, even without user action? If they do, I see no other option but to pause the updates.

I'll test disabling only that function on the Windows Update page. If it blocks the automatic download and installation of the KB, it's worth leaving updates enabled.

I just tested it and disabling that function doesn't block the KB download and installation. It's better to leave updates disabled.

Windows will only download the standard preview updates (Tuesday Patch) once they are fully validated.

Just to confirm that my latest Windows Tuesday Update May 12, 2026 didn’t install the KB5083631 preview update.
