Error: "The activation code does not apply to this application" when upgrading from KIS 2020 to 2021. [Split]

Downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security 2021 and it would not accept my 2020 license key that has 120 days left.

@ModMike1 This means your license is not valid for the version you try to activate,  please  check your license details and download the corresponding Kaspersky installer.

I was just upgrading from KIS 2020 to the new 2021 by the link shown here.

Installing Internet security 2021 over 2020 would not work for me.

It never transfered my active license over when I upgraded to 2021. Then when I tried to re-enter the license it gave me this.

Please login the “my kaspersky” account and add your activation code in it. After do that, you can see the version of the activation code. if the version of the activation code is 2018 or below, the error information is correct. you should check the version of the activation code.

I contacted Technical support and they amended the restriction of the activation code. All is fine now.

I have the same exact problem, opened a ticket yesterday, just waiting to hear back from them.

Mine upgraded automatically which was pretty annoying.

Well, I go to check my kaspersky accout. But it say ’webpage is scheduled maintenance‘. If this maintenance period has gone. I will check my kaspersky accout again and tell you the method……

Do you encounter the same activation error? I check my kaspersky accout. Sorry. It seems we couldn’t know the version of activation code above 2018 serious product. Buy I see this activation code has actived one device in your screenshot. Please press “Devices(1)” buttom and check whether the device is in use by you?
