Changing or disabling hotkey Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P in KAV 21

Hello!

At work I am using a software where I frequently have to use the hotkey Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P.
On my private machine however, this hotkey is blocked by KAV.

How can I disable or change the hotkey?

I am using KAV 21.3.10.391 (g) on Windows 11 (21H2, Build 22000.376).

Thanks!

Hello @jpgoelz

Welcome!

Recently @Zonnon raised topic: Keyboard shortcut blocked, Moderator @Schulte replied:

For years there is the problem that KIS declares itself "not responsible" when the hotkey for the VK is deactivated, but does not pass the keyboard combination <Ctrl><Alt><Shift> "P" to the subsequent keyboard driver.
It is up to the developers to find a satisfactory solution here.

  1. Please log a case with Kaspersky support, either via Chat or Email, fill in Application malfunction, Other template. Support may request Logs, Traces & other Data, they will guide you. Also, it may help them if you provide a video of the issue.
  • If selecting Chat option, we recommend you request a copy of the chat transcript, make sure you fill in your email address AFTER the chat is activated by the Chat agent & complete the Verify your email address email AFTER the chat completes.
  • When it’s available, please share the outcome with the Community?

Thank you🙏

Thank you @Flood and Flood's wife! I have submitted an inquiry via the route you suggested and will post the outcome.

However, I don’t know if the quote you posted actually applies. While in KIS there is a way to disable the VK, I could not find a similar option in KAV. I could acutally not find any options regarding the VK.

I got a reply from support:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Kaspersky technical support.

This key combination launches the Kaspersky on-screen keyboard.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the key combination for the on-screen keyboard, but you are welcome to disable this function by going to the Kaspersky application under:

Kaspersky main window -> Gear bottom left -> Advanced -> uncheck "Open on-screen keyboard with Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P" and save the setting.

Thanks a lot.

However, this option does not exist (the only option is hardware virtualisiation):

I was not able to respond in time due to the holidays and the ticket was closed. So, I have reopened another ticket and will update you with their response.

  • 1 month later...

Support really tried everything to solve my problem. I work in IT, so we were able to try some advanced approaches to solve the problem, but unfortunately without success.

After 15 emails in both directions, I was offered to switch to a KIS subscription with a 50% discount.

Also they...

created proposal 5463742 to add the possibility to turn off the virtual keyboard in Kaspersky Antivirus, as in Kaspersky Internet Security and Total Security.

and gave me a 50% discount for KIS if I wanted to switch over.
