Can I buy another 2 year subscription while current 2 year subscription is active?

Hi I bought Kaspersky Premium Security for 3 devices "2 year subscription" via website (I created my account on the website login into it and then I bought 2 year subscription). Since this was through website and was my first purchase hence I got it for $50 USD or something

Now when I login to mykaspersky account. I see 4xx days remaining along with VPN, Password Manager and all the products it comes with. I also see "Payment Method" which says auto-renewal for 1 year for $5x.xx USD.

My questions:

  1. Can I buy 2 year subscription for 3 devices again for the same amount using the same account?. So this way, the new 2 year subscription will stay in my account and can be utilized once the current subscription is over - giving me additional 2 years.

My reason is simple, I need additional 2 year subscription on my Kaspersky login portal early rather then later when current subscription expires (with auto renewal off) - because the renwal will give 1 year subscription for $50 or something.

1) If you buy a Kaspersky subscription from the official website the license activates automatically on the purchase date.

2) If you buy a Kaspersky box or a serial code from a third-party retail store, then the license starts only when activating your product. When adding the code to your My Kaspersky account, the 'reserve' code will be activated when your current license is ending.

Hello @Ginji666

  1. Also, it appears as IF the transactions are being paid in USD - are you living in the US - IF the answer is 'yes' please read:Guide on Kaspersky software availability in the United States.
  2. IF when the FIRST subscription was purchased ONLINE - RENEWAL was not turned OFF - when the subscription is due to RENEW it will be processed on the stored credit-card-details you provided in the transaction - at the cost shown to you in the payment cart - also at that transaction - that RENEWAL cost is (mostly) always higher than purchasing a new subscription.
  3. Because purchasing NEW subscriptions ACTIVATE on the payment date, not the software install date - after paying for the subscription, so the EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION & the NEW subscription can be merged - YOU need to log a case with Kaspersky Customer Service (GLOBALhttps://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global#contacts - select EMAIL & fill in the template as shown, provide a *detailed-history* -> provide the email address used when the subscription was originally purchased, the license-key(s), ask support to turn-off-renewal as well:

So If I visit this below page and get 2 year subscription 3 devices Using my original email address the one which I already have active 2 year subscription. What happens then? Currently auto-renewal is on.
https://me-en.kaspersky.com/premium

This is what I understand - please feel free to correct me if I am wrong:

If I already have 2 year subscription on xyz account then buying another 2 year subscription using xyz email address wont add additional days on my first subscription but it will start the clock immediately. Hence my new second subscription which I bought on my xyz account wont benefit.

So in this case, I need to reach-out to customer support and ask them to turnoff the auto-renwal and also mention them to merge the both subscriptions share them details purchase history, keys etc - as per template.

Now here is last question: What happens if buy new 2 year subscription on the same account (email address) while current is (2 year + 3 devices ) active but this time I increase the devices lets say 10 devices. What happens then. How will the merge work?

Once again, I apologies I just wanted to make things right at my side. So I can take decision on the purchase.

Hello @Ginji666

Thank you for posting back with additional questions! There's no need to apologise; it's important for you to have a clear understanding of the best way to move forward.

  1. Very important - for the *existing* subscription - turning OFF auto-renwal - IF it reaches the renewal date & it's not turned OFF you will be charged; it's better not to have that happen -> this is where (you) need Kaspersky Customer Service to assist -> ask them to turn Auto-renewal OFF on the *existing* subscription & also turn Auto-renewal OFF on the *new* subscription.

  2. IF / when you buy a *new* subscription -> it will activate as soon as the payment is processed - again, this is where you need Kaspersky Customer Service assistance –> ask them to merge the new subscription with the existing subscription so no days are lost. It's important to log the case for this as soon as you make the purchase & the new subscription shows in (your) MyKaspersky account –> don't delay, don't leave it for a week or a fortnight or a month -> do it straight away

  3. There's no point buying a subscription for 10 devices because (you'll) still have two active subscriptions –> an existing subscription for 3 devices & a new subscription for 10 devices, 13 devices in total – unless (you) want/need a subscription for 13 devices and (you'll) still be asking Kaspersky Customer Service to merge the subscriptions.

Please don't hesitate to post back if there are any outstanding concerns.

Thank you🙏

@Flood and Flood's wife Thank you for providing all the necessary details.
So right now I am trying to contact customer service support from this page - I selected Email and as mentioned above in the template - it shows me options but I am not sure where do I write them email to turnoff auto-renewal on my account.

Update: I found the details. Let me write them back and yes, I think I might need assistance in merging both subscription on my account (Once I bought the new subscription).

Hello @Ginji666

You're most welcome & well done!

AFTER submitting the request (you'll) receive an automated-email with an incident-reference-number-prefixed with INC0000*, then generally within 3 to 5 business days a Kaspersky-support-person will email you & provide assistance, make sure that (you) cover *all* issues with the support team - make sure the support team understand there's more than one issue.

Don't let them close the incident until all of the issues are resolved.

Thank you🙏

@Flood and Flood's wife Hi i got a resonse. The support staff is saying they cannot merge two subscription - meaning if I buy additional subscription for 2 years then that starts right after purchase and so ill have two simultanous subscription my kaspersky account with the clock ticking on both. They also said both subscription will remain seperate (2 year 3 devices + 2 year 10 devices).

That is not I want. Can you assist me. Also do let me know what am I missing here.

@Flood and Flood's wife Update here: I got a response from support chat. For now ill wait till I have utilized my current subscription and I am left with only 90 days. That is period when I can proceed further with "Renwal/Upgrade" Process. As per support team - currently there is no way to merge two different/same subscription. Subscription can no longer be merged.
Example: with my current 2 year + 3 devices subscription if I buy a new 2 year 10 devices then they will remain seperate on my account. It will start the counter on the day of purchase and hence if I have 13 devices but then ill need to utilized both subscription.
Both subscription will reflect no. of days as per their timeperiod (date of purchase) this means the old subscription will show 461 days  for 3 devices and new subscription will have 7xx days but for 10 devices

Hello @Ginji666

Thank you for the update/information.

  1. How many days are left on the *current/active* subscription?
  2. Re the advice from support: "Unfortunately we're unable to merge licenses, even if you purchase a new subscription... etc" - did you *specifically* ask support why "merge licenses" of the *same* license cannot be done. It's *important* Support tell you this.
  3. We agree merging licenses is not available for *different* products, for example - merging Standard with Plus OR Premium, OR merging Plus with Premium - etc - bc the *different* product has different features - a subscriber who's paid for Standard & has X days remaining would not reasonably expect to merge Standard with Premium & convert the X days to Premium without paying Premium for those days - that's messy, we totally understand why Kaspersky doesn't do that; our advice was based on the assumption you were merging the *same* type of AV subscription.
  4. IF what support has written - no merging - is *now* correct {BC *previously* merging subscriptions *was* done by support} -> subscribers throughout the course of the year will not be able to take advantage of Kaspersky promotions, specials, EOY discounts etc - doesn't make sense bc their online subscriptions *activate* on purchase - what are their subscribers supposed to do?
  5. IF (you) wait for the existing subscription to be at 90days remaining & then buy a new-subscription, there will be 90days where you are runnning two subscriptions for 13devices - how many *actual* devices do (you) have?
  6. FYI - Kaspersky *renewal* subscriptions are frequently more expensive than subscriptions Kaspersky sell as *new* subscriptions.
  7. BC you are in Pakistan, be alert to this information please: The use of VPN technology is subject to local laws and regulations. Kaspersky VPN should only be used for its intended purpose. And it is not available for downloading or activation in Belarus, China, India, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, read: VPN unavailability in certain regions

Thank you🙏
