We use Endpoint Security Cloud and it seems like after every major update we have a handful of devices with the following messages: -Security application is installed but it is not running. -Security application is installed but real-time protection is disabled. Restarting the client does not help. The only fix seems to be manually removing Kaspersky and reinstalling, which can be time consuming. Is there a quicker repair fix for this?

  5. Moin. Es geht hier nur um Android Geräte. Bei aktualisieren werden nur irgendwelche "Stores" angeboten, wo man erst wieder ein Konto einrichten muss. Ich möchte einfach einen direkten Link zu der aktuellen APK dirket bei Kaspersky haben, warum gibt es das nicht? Jedesmal wenn ein Update benachrichtigt wird, muss erst mit Browser ins Internet und dann bis zu den APK durcharbeiten, warum so kompliziert? Weis da jemand mehr? Gruß

Just to piggyback on here I use the android kaspersky premium app that has the vpn built in and it was forced to update today seemingly a few hours ago and its stopped certain parts of apps loading properly, cant share images from gallery or paste them into discord. Cant access duckduckgo. Couldnt load anything inside google play store or samsung store with the vpn on. Couldnt load grok inside x app until i changed dns to one.one.one.one. Not sure what youve changed but it seems to have caused me a great deal of problems on a product that was working perfectly.
  8. I did get this problem when I updated the version manually instead of waiting for it to auto update. I now wait for the auto update. In the past I found the only way to fix this was to uninstall/re-install Kaspersky
  9. After the latest Kaspersky VPN update, the service has become practically unusable for anyone who needs accurate manual location selection. Here is a concrete example: I manually select Taiwan as the VPN location whatismyipaddress.com identifies the IP as Pakistan ipinfo.io identifies the same IP as Taiwan Other services sometimes identify it as Germany This is not about “hiding my real location” — that part works fine and is obvious to everyone using a VPN. The real issue is that manual location selection no longer corresponds to a consistent or reliable IP geolocation. In practice, this means: different websites see me as being in different countries at the same time services that rely on strict geolocation either block access or behave unpredictably the selected country becomes more of a label than an actual location Support responded with a generic explanation of how VPNs hide real locations, which completely misses the point. What users actually need to know is: are these locations virtual locations? does Kaspersky VPN still guarantee country-accurate IP addresses when a user manually selects a country? If the answer is “no”, that should be stated clearly in the UI and documentation. At this point, the unfortunate conclusion is that Kaspersky VPN has significantly degraded after the update, while the Kaspersky Antivirus product remains excellent and reliable. I’m posting this here not to complain for the sake of complaining, but to get a clear technical explanation and hopefully prevent other users from wasting time troubleshooting something that is actually a design decision.
  10. Hello @Bernd Wechner, Welcome! KSK time report discrepancy issues may be difficult, we always try to replicate the original complaint for comparison, so apologies for the delay. Regarding (your) 12year old hacking KSK or the OS: Have (you) asked them - in all seriousness - it's much better to be upfront, something along the lines of, it's not that we don't trust you but you're a smart kid, we don't want to waste time with Community support / support if you've messed with the system, the reason we have KSK is to keep you safe. In our tests we replicated the issue - then resolved it - this is where it took so long bc KSK is a PIA when it comes to uninstall & clean install & post install. That's what (you) need to do, shutdown *absolutely-everything*, then, using Windows Add & remove programs - uninstall KSK, then shutdown the computer, make sure it's a *full* shutdown, restart, login. Download a *new* KSK installer from here: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads - scroll down to the downloads section & select KSK. Install KSK, after the full install, reboot the computer, make sure it's a *full* shutdown, restart, login. At this point KSK time reporting will be *accurate* but KSK will send a notification in 24 to 48 hrs to do *another* *full* shutdown bc it will have applied the latest version *silently* - make sure you do the *full* shutdown, restart, login *again*. At that point KSK time reporting will still be working & you & the kid are good to go. A couple of other points to note: BOTH children must only have a LOCAL Windows user account - no elevated profiles whatsoever. Both Children - IF the children use Android phones (as well) the Settings application must be Forbidden. To permit access to this is the equivalent of giving an elevated profile on a Windows device. Images: the 1st set shows KSK version originally installed, version post install & replication of (your) KSK time settings Set 2 shows: KSK version post silent update & KSK report, for todays time-test we allocated 10 minutes, was on the computer for 8, KSK updated accurately-in-real-time.   11. My subscription is about to expire in 22 days and I am hoping that the developers will remove the forced Ai that has been added in the update to above new version that occured today on my PC. I don't trust Ai with my data and spend my life removing it from as many products as possible. Please can Kaspersky allow us to opt out of the forced Ai even if it means reverting us to the previous version of Kaspersky Standard while they code this option. I run a business advising customers on security as well as selling new PCs and I refuse to sell/use or recommend any product with forced Ai in it.
  12. Just upgraded to version Premium 21.24.8.522 and noticed it alerting me in the "home" section of the app to turn on MS Edge extension... so I said to turn it on. It took me to Edge, but shows the extension as already installed.. so I removed it... and readded it, but no change, it says its installed, but remains Grey and the warning inside the app to turn it on remains. (and I have rebooted, just to be sure) The extension page says its version 2.13.33.2 dated 18th Sep 2025 (on the Chrome web store). My version of Edge is up to date... 144.0.3719.104 PC is Win 11 Pro, 25H2 fully patched... ver 26200.7628 Just me? any ideas? I presume Kaspersky just have to pull their finger out and update something
  13. Quick update... Icon does seem to be green on many web sites... but not here on this forum.. May be it "off" for this site as it is Kaspersky's and so is trusted... I dont know.. but it seems to be all good.
  14. Thanks all... I can confirm the update to 21.24.8.522 was done manually, over the top of my previous install So I did as @newbie1 suggested and did a complete uninstall of the whole app and reinstalled. The extension then behaved differently to before... When it was not working, when I clicked on it in the list of extensions, it opened a box with a grey shield on the left, and an arrow pointing to (what I now assume to be) a settings screen.. clicking in that box did nothing. After the fresh install, clicking on it in the list of extensions did open a settings screen (as shown in @harlan4096 screen shot above). And once enabled things, the icon turned green as shown in attached screen shot. So I thought I was done and all good. But I rebooted, and now the icon is back to grey, but the settings do open, and seem to be selected, so I assume it is actually working (see second screen shot) Anyway - thanks for everyones help.

I've recently updated my 21.23 overwriting it with 21.24: Personally, I haven't gotten the issue, but I recall that other users had the same issue with previous versions when They did update, and for many of them, the only workaround was uninstalling and run a clean installation of the new version of Kaspersky. Also, the icon remains in gray but working, it will only get green color if You enable Private Browsing and/or Anti-Banner modules.
  16. This is honestly the worst update I’ve ever seen. The removal of essential features, such as the router feature, protocol selection, and dual VPN, has significantly reduced the functionality and flexibility that made this VPN worth using in the first place. On top of that, reducing the number of available servers and introducing a new data-processing agreement tied to PureVPN raises serious concerns for me. Please bring back the previous version or restore the features that were removed. The “new infrastructure” may meet internal standards, but from a user perspective, this update feels like a major downgrade. If this direction continues, you will likely lose long-time customers who relied on the tools and privacy options that you’ve now taken away.
  17. Today, I updated my laptops ssd and after installing windows I download the kaspersky antivirus from my sub window. when it get install it says buy subscription as I already have one year subscription in my antivirus
  18. After a forced update of kaspersky VPN, the list of servers reduced from 100 to 86 and I lost the double VPN tab. Now I can't use double VPN anymore. Anyone have any idea why?
  19. In Windows 7 with updates I have installed Kaspersky Free 21.23.6.614 and it worked good. I performed update and patch A is installed. After restart I have a crash of Kaspersky. In Event viewer have only this: In log have error in file traffic_processing.dll. Here is attached log: I hope this will help to developers.

Specifically i try connecting to Canada - Toronto, which works but then i try connecting to dnsleaktest.com and i try and get this: nslookup dnsleaktest.com Server: unn-149-50-222-3.datapacket.com Address: 149.50.222.3 *** unn-149-50-222-3.datapacket.com can't find dnsleaktest.com: Server failed so i had to go into the network adapter called "Kaspersky VPN WG Nt Adapter Tunnel" and manually set the DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare’s DNS) and 8.8.8.8 and had to set "obtain ip address automatically" in the ipv4 properties. im guessing there is a configuration issue on kaspersky's end since its a new vpn update? I also tried to set the firewall inbound UDP remote ports to allow any address from 53 and 51820 (supposedly a wire guard default port) i also tried with TCP ports but that didnt work. I hope this helps admin to realize and fix it, but yeah right now your VPN's DNS is kinda working for some sites and not for others. also sad to see you removed montreal server, now theyre all gonna flock to toronto :c also trying to use "Fastest Server" results in connecting to Bangladesh and having my ip show in paris, like what? lol

  23. After updating WIndows, specifically the 2025-11 Security Update (KB5068861), Kaspersky VPN's window a red "connection unavailable" banner and I cannot turn on VPN at all, even though my Internet connection is still fine. Is there any way to fix this?
