Kaspersky VPN / DNS Issues After PureVPN Integration - Time for Kaspersky Statement

Kaspersky's latest statement is here: https://support.kaspersky.com/faq/ksec-migration It contains download links for another update for all devices and and subscription types. So its important to try that, and if the situation hasn't improved either lodge or update a support ticket, this will help Kaspersky further diagnose the issues and how widespread they are. The absence of any contribution or explanation by this forum's moderators on many of the threads concerning this issue is telling. It may indicate that a strict "no comment" directive from legal and PR has been applied to what can be described as follows: "A Severity 1 (SEV-1) incident: a global service degradation lasting more than 4 hours , triggering company-wide emergency protocols." Normally an outage affecting connectivity for a majority of users would be expected to be resolved within 24-48 hours. Just how widespread this is issue is unknown but given that the update applies to all platforms and subscription types it is likely to be extensive, and silence can be a form of damage control. There must be a fundamental incompatibility between Kaspersky's software and PureVPN's infrastructure that requires a major re-engineering effort to fix. Temporary use of one of the many free VPNs is a good option to have a break from the stress of dealing with this. Update to the Latest Version for Smooth VPN Performance

Sent a support ticket 6 days ago and received 2 replies only, both asking me for logs, system info and many things that are obviously not related to the problem, are the customer support people not told that the issue is your service and not my completely unrelated 4 devices all on different versions of the app and now updated to equally useless latest versions? It's fairly straightforward that whatever update was done, was done incorrectly or to extremely low quality servers and now doesn't work. I asked for a partial refund at the very least because I paid for a service and I got an application that has to stay turned off and no service but "I'm out of the 30-day period" so I can't even get my money back after years of paying for this service. I don't see any updates anywhere and this was after the atrocious changes announced at the end of November, "update to the latest version" does nothing, I've been on the last 3 "latest" versions and the debug version, unable to refresh gmail or get a whatsapp message, even play a youtube video on a computer. For all the people who will rightfully cancel the service, you should at least post an update explaining that the service doesn't work or instruct your customer service to be honest instead of saying that updating the application will magically fix the bad service provided. -

The upload limit was 10MB each and 3 max. So there is no way I can upload the apk. I will provide the scenario info and screenshot. They should be able to get the apk from play store themselves. Just to sum up my case: App: Samsung Internet Base version: 27.0.9.86 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bd0164c2ac0ca55f3bf7fe947508e3285ca546c95eb995d04f0996dfff46231b Update Version: 29.0.0.59 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/c50af847dc88344cfc47a0724c021dbd0b54fc6bb5872b82b25ca4dd259d76c3/details Both of them passed VirusTotal including Kaspersky. Can't upload to opentip due to size limit. Symptom: Kaspersky Triggers HEUR: Trojan-Spy.AndroidOS.SmForw.bs when I try to update the app or full scan on already updated app. Current Solution: Uninstall update and disable auto update for this app. I don't believe it is a real virus. It is hundreds of millions current users we are talking about. -

Interim update : Patch 21.24(a) did not resolve this display issue , let's wait for the fix with a next Patch or Kaspersky version 21.25 scheduled for release in April. -
URGENT help required with KSK uninstall!

Update! I have - finally - managed to get the app uninstalled from the device, but not without the expected back-and-forth emails from Kaspersky "support" ! Firstly, they asked me to send screenshots of the process; there wasn't much point as it didn't show anything, but I did as requested anyway. Secondly, they asked me to install an app called AIDA64 and send them an extremely long datafile/log of the device's setup, which I did. At this point, it became annoying, because another "agent" took over the case and just sent a reply saying "sorry for the inconvenience, you must have just had a temporary connection error trying to connect to your account, please try again and let us know if you require further help." Needless to say, my response to that email wasn't overly polite, and I requested they escalate it to someone who had an ounce of common sense between their ears instead. I then received a reply from yet another person with an apology and a set of 3 options to try. One of the options was the 'safe mode' option, but that doesn't work because KSK prevents the device from starting in safe mode, so that was a no-go from the outset. The second option did work, therefore I obviously didn't try the third. I'm more than happy to share the instructions that DID work here, if that would be allowed? Just wanted to make sure that's allowed before I post them! I'm off to work shortly, so it could be a day or two before I'm able to get back on to check for an update. -
I found this topic whilst searching for a way to make the update window smaller. It seems it can not be done below 1 hour. I just wanted to know the automatic default, so it's indeed every 2 hours? OK so 1 hour is faster than that, I set to 8am every hour and 2 minutes after app start as I don't see the point of the delay with that which defaulted to 15 minutes. Honestly, I would prefer setting the update schedule to every 15 minutes and I think Kaspersky should allow the paranoid user like myself to set it that frequently, as what can it harm? it's not as if it causes any network slowdown or PC performance issues. Nevertheless, I do run an update myself before every manual scan, so that brings another thing. When we right click the K icon in taskbar, I think a very easy option to add and a very useful one would be to have an update shortcut. So we can just right click icon and update. No? Any reason why this would be a bad idea? The way it is now I have to open the interface and navigate to the security tab and click update. It's not the end of the world, just could be really easy with a shortcut in the right click menu. There are so many other things you can do there, like exit, pause protection etc, I think an update option would be great. Edit: Typos

Hi nonanche9200, Please understand that this is a problem at Kaspersky's end caused entirely by an external service migration i.e the integration of PureVPN's services into Kaspersky VPN's architecture. No amount of tinkering with your systems configuration will fix the issue as there is likely nothing wrong with you system's configuration. You should have received a notification about this via email, but if not I have pasted it below for you. The only thing to do is to return your configuration settings back to where they were and ... wait. It has been 7 days for me now, but it is better each day. You may wish to lodge a support ticket as this will give Kaspersky information on how widespread the issue is and what kind of problems are most common amongst users. * The error message you posted: "error ID 4311 NetBt it says : "Initialization failed because the device driver could not be created." is a Windows message about its native networking component (NetBT) failing to initialize because of a virtual network adapter that is being created and destroyed repeatedly. This is almost certainly the Kaspersky VPN WG Nt Adapter getting stuck in a loop creating a virtual adapter, failing, aborting, and repeating and perhaps failing to clean up perfectly, leaving ghost entries or creating new ones each time. This is why you have 173 (or more now) new Local Area Connection connections. Again there is nothing wrong at your end and you can't fix it, it would be like taking your car to a mechanic because a major road has been blocked by an earth slide. * The 256 DNS errors you've had in the last 24 hours are also related to the Kaspersky VPN issues, you can't change this either. Open a command prompt and type in: ping 1.1.1.1 <Enter> and ping 8.8.8.8 <Enter> You should get normal round trip times of around 10 to 80 ms or so. This will show there is nothing wrong with your DNS settings or the Cloudfare and Google DNS servers. I hope this helps. Можете сравнить со своим, ну и у пострадавших запросить первые два сегмента GSI- думаю под "персональные данные" не попадет, судя по адресам - там точность +/- провайдер. -

Само обновление происходит с сервера обновления, на который я установил Kaspersky Update Utility В какой пакет обновлений входит данный файл? Я перебрал несколько вариантов, но ни к чему не пришёл Выбраны следующие пакеты обновлений: Данные пакеты соответствуют версиям KES и сервера администрирования В расширенных настройках активировано "загружать программные модули" и "загружать дифференцированные обновления" Загружать локализации: ru -
Ich werde heute Abend einen Screenshot von meinem Profil nachreichen, sobald ich wieder daheim bin. Ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher, aber möglicherweise besteht dieses Problem seit dem automatischen Update von v21.23 auf v21.24, denn vor der Version 21.24 sind mir in der Rubrik Datenleck-Überprüfung keine Ungereimtheiten aufgefallen.

Please tell us if vpn will work in russia or not? I bought this vpn in abroad not in Russia 4 years ago and renewing it every year. Since Tuesday, it has stopped working after policy update. So this vpn will ever work or not. Refund money then. Russian version of kaspersky vpn is completely useless because WhatsApp, instagram, YouTube, dont work with that vpn. So whats the point of buying that vpn if nothing gets unblocked. I renewed this vpn in august last year and now its too late to ask apple for refund. So better kaspersky refunds money directly . atleast , tell us clearly if this vpn will ever work or not ?? since everything is blocked in russia , without vpn , its not possible to survive and talk to family. Your russian version of vpn is useless because it unblocks nothing. Reply asap -

Witzig dabei ist nur, dass ich schon mehrfach in der Vergangenheit (einige Monate her)eine Benachrichtigung direkt aus der Kaspersky App erhalten hab, das ein Update vorliegt. Dieses Update wurde dann auch – per APK Datei – einwandfrei installiert. -

Since yesterday, my vpn is not working after policy update. Vpn gets connected but doesn’t open anything. Without vpn , its so hard to use WhatsApp and to call family abroad. Emailed Kaspersky many times , even called them today but nothing so far. Please fix this problem. Its so hard to survive without vpn these days. -
IIS requests slowed down

After the last version update, making any requests to locally installed MS IIS webserver unbeliebable slowed down, sometimes it takes 30-40 seconds or more. This is a developer windows workstation, we use IIS for testing new web development locally. If we turn off Kaspersky protection the issue disappears. Kaspersky Small Office Security 21.24.8.522 My worskstation is a Windows 11 Professional x64 Build 26200 IIs version: 10.0 On another workstation with Windows 10 Pro we experienced the same problem. Non local requests works well. I tried turn off only safe browsing component, but it does not solve the error. -

Is the Kaspersky Free application signed into *your* MyKaspersky account using the *same* email address that was used to activate the software? Is KSN enabled? Which Region/Location are (you) physically a resident of? Is a VPN in use? Since *installing* Kaspersky Free has a Database Update been run then the computer shutdown using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, when the computer is OFF, power ON by pressing the power button, login, make sure the Kaspersky Free application & (your) MyKaspersky *account* are *synchronised*, recheck the Kaspersky Free Data Leak Checker issue - any change?
