  1. Thank you very much, this is really useful. But has Antivirus database update using Kaspersky Update Utility 4 (the second link) been completed? It only lists the applications that support updates but does not specify how to update them.
  2. Have had Kaspersky Internet Security for 4 years without issues. Today Notification Center says "Databases are extremely out of date". They are set to update automatically. If I click Update, it attempts to update but the message does not change. The Database Update screen says "Last Update: Less than a minute ago." Windows also displays an alert that my Kaspersky security is out of date. Running Windows 11 Pro (updated Feb 2025) on HP Spectre x360 laptop.
  3. Welcome to Kaspersky Community. For some reason, Your K. app got removed 🤔 maybe a bad update... Try this tool, to completely remove Kaspersky Premium: https://support.kaspersky.com/common/uninstall/1464
He leído algo de Kaspersky Update Utility...
  6. Hum ok, there is a new version 21.22, try updating to new version and re-check: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product

Kaspersky Password Manager (v 25.0.0.225) is crashing

Kaspersy got me to try the solution Cippy posted twice, once while in live chat and again after waiting 24hrs for a solution after sending a GSI Zip file (System info) to Tech Support. Unfortunately the solution didn't work. I'm glad it worked for Cippy. Kaspersky even told me to "ensure Windows 10 update (22H2) is installed"... ...This is a cookie-cutter response that's wildly out of date; I'm on Windows 11 Home (24H2). Of course Tech Support knew this because they looked at the GSI Zip file I sent at their request, right? Right? Haha, it seems Kaspersky doesnt care or is clueless, they've certainly had time to implement a fix. I'm waiting again for Tech Support to reply. After this non-solution I'll look to a competitor asap, Kaspersky's had plenty of chances, if they don't care why should I?
  8. This installer (screenshot) is signed properly, Trusted (digital signature). But installation fails. Because now it's Untrusted installer. What if the unsigned file is new and just unknown in KSN? It will be blocked even with enabled trusting digitally signed apps. And the product will not report this, there will simply be an installation/update/launch error. There is also apps Trusted (digital signature without confirmation). These apps will be blocked instead of running normally in the Low Restricted group. So, there can be a lot of problems with these settings.

Kaspersky deleted Trojan file. Am I safe?

Hello @hamishp, Welcome! For someone who's: "not particularly tech savvy" - you've been extremely thorough & taken all the correct steps, well done! Kaspersky deleted the trojan file & both scan results show 'no threats detected', (your) system is clear. Check in Quarantine - IF the file is there (you) may wish to delete it; note, if it's in Quarantine - it's been managed by Kaspersky & is harmless unless it's restored - at which point Kaspersky will delete it again. (you) may wish to *update* Kaspersky Standard - it's currently up to v21.20, v21.18 is outdated. The link to update: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product; read: How to update the application *AFTER* the update, run a Database update - allow it to complete. Then shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, when the computer is OFF - power on by pressing the power button, login. Check Kaspersky application for version & check the Reports for any potential issues - there really should not be any - based on what you've reported so far. IF there's further concerns please do not hesitate to post back? Thank you? Flood?+?

    Database Updates

Hi @Bav, It is desirable to have the very latest database updates all the time, but not absolutely necessary. Kaspersky has extensive capabilities to detect malware as soon as it is launched. This works for a certain time even without up-to-date databases. The latest signatures would be an advantage for a scan, but undetected malware is harmless as long as it is not launched. Then the program control and other detection techniques intervene again. If the scan you start thinks the databases are too old, it will offer to update them first. But they are never really out of date. As soon as your computer is online, your Kaspersky can receive urgent information via the KSN and is therefore informed about the very latest known malware. If you still prefer a quick way for updates, you can create a batch file on the desktop, for example. For the MR21 the command is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky 21.21\avp.com" update Then it's just a double-click...
  13. Hello, Since two days ago I have seen that I can not start up the Battle.net application when Kaspersky is enabled. This has happened to other programs before, so I would usually add Battle.net to "Specify Trusted Applications" but this is where the second part of the issue happens. When I add the Battle.net launcher to the list, my Kaspersky would immediately crash. I have sent in a crash report when it happened, but I doubt that would help me with my immediate issue. I have run Windows update, Networking driver check and Kaspersky update but none have seemed to help. Could you please advise on what I can do to mitigate either part of this issue? Thank you.
  14. Hi Flood and Flood's wife! Thanks for taking the time and effort to sort out my questions 🙂 It´s time to update my Kaspersky subscription and instead of spending money on an additional VPN subscription I´m thinking of getting Kaspersky Plus or Premium that includes unlimited VPN. I would set up Kaspersky VPN on my router (running Asuswrt-Merlin) to be used when torrenting, having the torrent client running on my NAS and route only the traffic to/from my NAS through the VPN client (using VPN Director). The configuration for the router would have to be for a server allowing P2P, right? Looking at the pictures on the blog and previous posts here on the forum I don´t see the option to choose a server for torrenting when creating a configuration file, just country selections. Is it only Premium that enables torrent router configuration, would it not be available with a Plus subscription? Cheers! https://www.kaspersky.com/blog/how-to-use-vpn-on-routers/48410/ https://forum.kaspersky.com/topic/openvpn-configuration-file-52764/#comment-196825
  15. Of course! All of them running from "c:\programdata\Kaspersky... \win10" I'm waiting for this update to K Plus 21.22.7.466 in my other PC's, to verify if this happens on all of them (2pc's + 2 laptop) People still using 21.21.6 don't have this issue, because custom webview2 folder is not present. I'd like to have feedback from people running latest Kaspersky in Windows 11, too. Thanks for your help.
  16. Hallo @Canis_Lupus, willkommen.

    Kaspersky Crashes "explorer.exe" [Urgent]

Hello @ycaosbiann, @GTom, @PHR75017, Update: The Kaspersky expert team/developers are working on bug 8903377 with high priority. Everyone please patiently wait. Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋
  21. Thanks for the reply can you explain to me how to do that in details nothing showes in update history there is a some security updates and other updates nothing about FEP
  22. Hello @noone, Thank you for the information! Create a System Restore Point. In Windows Update History - is FEP showing - IF 'yes', go to the Installed Updates & uninstall, then a full reboot, power OFF/ON, login & How to install the extension in Mozilla Firefox, then How to enable the extension in Mozilla Firefox. Has the Kaspersky extension been removed from Firefox, exit Firefox browser, followed by a full power OFF of the computer, followed by power ON by pressing the power button, login, then: How to install the extension in Mozilla Firefox, then How to enable the extension in Mozilla Firefox? IF the issue persists please read & follow: What to do if you experience issues -> submit a request to Kaspersky Customer Service. Please share the outcome with the Community when it's available? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋
  23. App reinstalling is a great power. Let's hope the next OS/app update doesn't break everything again. 🙂
  24. Yes, the icon appears again but not in next system start, it's recreated after database or Kaspersky software update. I believe this happens when Kaspersky client app GUI gets updates. I think people who is responsible for software deployment/distribution (Setup package programmers) should check this issue. Should do something like excluding default shortcut (icon) creation in silent/background update mode. If someone wants to have an icon on desktop should be able to use special checkbox for that during the Setup (Installation) process. But if it's being installed silently (background update mode) no shortcuts (icons) should be created on Desktop. That's how most user-friendly apps behave from my personal experience. I understand when a web browser creates an icon on Desktop without asking a user, because web browsers frequently used apps. But why to do this with an antivirus? It's meant to run in background and guard your PC, there is nothing to do on antivirus GUI, except one-time configuration.

Kaspersky Password Manager (v 25.0.0.225) is crashing

Hello Kaspersky Support Team, I'm experiencing the same issue reported by another user, but I'm using the latest version of Kaspersky Password Manager (25.0.0.501) on my system. System details: Operating System: Windows 11 23H2 Build Number: 22631.5549 KPM Version: 25.0.0.501 Note: I am not part of the Windows Insider Program. Issue description: After entering my correct master password, the application displays the message “Decrypting vault” and then abruptly closes without showing any error message. Troubleshooting steps already taken: Restarted the computer Uninstalled and reinstalled Kaspersky Password Manager However, the issue persists. Important note: I noticed the issue began after installing the following Windows Update: "2025-06 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5060826)" Release Notes: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/june-26-2025-kb5060826-os-builds-22621-5549-and-22631-5549-preview-65d38dd2-e149-4462-9699-e2482f60b16b Thanks!
