Why Kaspersky make it so difficult to take my money?
Yoji posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Hi all.... Just a moan about how shoddy Kaspersky web site is. Signing in via my main PC... Win 11 Pro 25H2 Fully patched... Using MS Edge .. latest version Dont know how it works in other countries... but our Bank cards have an expiry date... and the card I use to pay for Kaspersky expires on 04/26.... and my subscription expires on 26th Apr 2026.. So VERY tight... so I wanted to update it to avoid issues. Signed into "My Kaspersky" and went to update the payment method. 1. Going directly to change payment method, it allows you change details.. but the "Save" button is missing on the screen... so you cant actually update it. 2. If you go to "info" about the payment method first, and THEN go to change details... you DO get the "Save" button at the bottom. 3. So I made the changes... it went through the process with my bank (i.e. I had to authorise a payment of £0.0 via my bank app). 4. then it came back with a red box with a cross (suggesting it had failed) saying the payment method was already present... and when I looked at payment details, it still showed the card expiry date of 04/26. 5. So... just to be sure... I logged out of "My Kaspersky" and logged back in.. and sure enough, payment details now showed the correct/updated expiry date. So all in all... pretty bad experience.. -
Bugs or strange Kaspersky behavior
AlphariusXXI posted a topic in Virus and Ransomware related questions
This is the second time I've encountered a problem with a quick check, the first time, during a quick check, some red object was found that was simply ignored, not deleted, not quarantined, but simply ignored, subsequent quick scans and 2 full scans did not detect any viruses that day. Today, a quick scan detected two objects that were deleted. It's unclear what these objects were; there's no indication they were even detected in the history, and they weren't quarantined so I cannot see what objects kaspersky deleted, the full scan I ran afterwards found nothing. Moreover, this behavior of the antivirus began after a recent update; I had never had anything like this before. -

That’s a Windows Update Preview Update... that's why I try to avoid installing them always... -

PoisonMug replied to CK1's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
This freezing issue, where quick and full scans hang at 1% and fail to progress, is caused by Windows 11 update KB5083631. Once uninstalled, Kaspersky scans return to normal. For now, the only workaround to resolve the problem is to remove KB5083631 from the system, disable automatic updates, and wait the company investigate the system changes introduced by this KB that are affecting scans and release a fix or update. Alternatively, we may have to wait for Microsoft to release a Windows patch if the issue remains unresolved on their end. -
Will Password Manager Firefox extension work with multiple Firefox profiles?
JamesEm posted a topic in Kaspersky Password Manager
Hello, I use multiple Firefox profiles in Windows to separate my different browsing activities so they don't interfere and to reduce the chances of compromise. I've been doing this successfully for many years, before Multi-Account containers were implemented in Firefox. I use the Firefox Profile Manager to create multiple profiles, then add shortcuts to the Desktop. Having separate shortcuts allows me to set a custom icon to make clear the purpose of each shortcut and the Firefox profile it uses. The Target command used in each shortcut is in the form: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P my-profile-name1 -no-remote The "-no-remote" means that it starts a new instance or copy of Firefox, using the profile "my-profile-name1". It doesn't open a new tab in the existing default browser. If that profile is already open, the "-no-remote" means that it won't respond to any requests to open a new tab. I maintain and use the default Firefox profile for everyday browsing. This means when I click a URL link, it will open in a new tab in my default browser instance. The default browser is also where I have the Kaspersky Password Manager (KPM) extension installed to populate login details from my password vault and to update or add entries. My questions: Can I install the KPM extension in multiple profiles? Can I use the KPM extension in multiple profiles at the same time? If using multiple profiles at the same time is not possible, can I use the KPM extension in one of the multiple profiles at a time? If I can install the KPM extension in multiple profiles, is it possible to use the non-default profiles in a read-only way, to populate login fields but not to save new entries? I'm guessing that KPM already allows multiple access to the password vault, from both the application and the syncing process, so multiple access may be possible. However if the extension isn't built to handle access from multiple instances of itself, then option 2 (above) won't be possible. I'm hoping that option 3 or 4 might be possible fall-back uses. I'm not sure exactly how to go about testing these scenarios and what success or failure would look like. Obviously I need to use a backup of my vault in another user account, create some new Firefox profiles, find a way to install the KPM extension in each profile, try using each profile instance one at a time, then try using two profile instances at the same time, noting results/errors each time. If anyone has any experience of using the KPM extension with multiple Firefox profiles, I'd be very interested to hear about your experiences. Many thanks, James Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.7291 (extended support in place, latest updates installed) Kaspersky Plus 21.25.7.504(a) Kaspersky Password Manager 25.1.0.602 (a) / 1780062802_7816 / 1.1.0.2_1 Firefox 151.0.3 (64-bit)-

Thanks... you are right. I was working with Garlin with his tools to help update to 2023 certificates on my motherboard at the time... but the "hotfix.bat" file was one I created.... under guidance of Garlin. The contents of which were exactly per my first post in this thread. So yes.. it was copying a bootloader... from my hard drive to the efi partition. the version on my hard drive would have been (signed? and) put there by Microsoft so should have been recognised as safe.. I dont understand the "Virustotal" links you posted, but hopefully my explanation helps you put into context what was happening. If you want to see the chain of events... here is the thread on Garlins thread where he helped me. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/garlins-powershell-scripts-for-updating-secure-boot-ca-2023.43423/post-745756 This is the link where he told me use the commands... you can scroll up and down from that a bit to see the full context if interested.

In fact, that bootmanager update probably behaves similar to a rootkit, that's why SW triggered it 😁

Do You have Kaspersky Premium or is it still old KIS? If You are still in old KIS, update to K. Standard, if KTS -> K. Plus. IF You already in KPremium, and have this feature enabled (FingerPrint Blocking), disable it and try again. -
KES 12 + Win7 SP1. Ошибка установки: 1920
Friend replied to Armo's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security

Seems the latest Kaspersky update to 21.25 has fixed this.

Flood and Flood's wife replied to affatube's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Hello @Zork, You're most welcome! We're delighted to read the first part of the issue is resolved! Well done! 21.3. is *up-to-date* for 21.3 but it's positively medieval, it *should* have been updated to the most current version 21.24 *automatically*, however, oftentimes, when installations go awry that may not happen - as would appear to be what's happened with (yr) Kaspersky software. 21.24 is Kaspersky's new generation software - (you'll) see many changes, it's much more than window-dressing, READ: About Kaspersky solutions & What's new in the latest version of the application remember (refer to the image below) -> in every Kaspersky GUI - a question-mark in the top-right-hand-corner (C) represents a link to HELP documentation AND 21.24 has a SEARCH field (D) -> for best results use simple-search-terms, for example fire will open the Window where the Firewall module can be accessed... Don't mess around with PS, batch-scripts or anything else - do as instructed, either download on top, at the end of that process run a Database update, then shutdown of the machine using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power-on by pressing the power-button, login, monitor OR do a clean install, IF doing a clean install - save LICENSE information only, after installing the new software - run a Database update followed by a SHUTDOWN & power-on of the computer - login & monitor for the original problem? After the shutdown & bringing the machine back online - at some stage - we would expect seven days max -> a patch may be released to (yr) installation - if all things are progressing normally there should be a notification -> and the action/s (you) need to take -> normally a reboot to apply the patch - image - our installation on patch(a), after receiving notification of an *automatic-update*, a reboot/shutdown applied patch(b) Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋 -

Hello @Sergi, Welcome! (your) topic is in Kaspersky Total Security section, which Kaspersky software *name* has been updated? Kaspersky Total Security is Kaspersky's *old* software, it's been replaced by Kaspersky Plus, Kaspersky is offering a *Free-like-for-like* upgrade: READ: Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ Download is available here: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product it's (yr) choice whether OR not to install / update a new version over the top OR do a clean install, IF doing a clean install - save LICENSE information only, after installing the new software - run a Database update followed by a shutdown & power-on of the computer - login & monitor for the original problem? IF it repeats log the issue with Kaspersky Customer Service (KCS): https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, select Email, fill in the template as shown, provide a *detailed-history* *Do NOT use the AI-BOT to submit the incident* Please share the outcome with the Community when it's available? Flood and Flood's wife replied to affatube's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Hello @Zork, Welcome! Absolutely positive - IF that's not happening with (your) installation something has gone amiss & needs to be managed manually to rectify & get back to *normal*: Hack - what do you mean? It's housekeeping. Disable Self-Defense in the Kaspersky product, then exit Kaspersky product and delete the files. Then shutdown the computer using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power ON by pressing the Start-button, login, check if the issue is resolved OR run the computer in SAFE-MODE & delete the files, then shutdown the computer using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power ON by pressing the Start-button, login, check if the issue is resolved? ALSO - which version of Kaspersky is *actually* installed? IF it's 21.3 it's outdated!! In Windows Taskbar *Hidden-icons*, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About? Kaspersky is up to 21.24 - which is what should be installed - IF (yr) software requires updating, use: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product - it's (yr) choice whether OR not to install / update a new version over the top OR do a clean install, IF doing a clean install - save LICENSE information only, after installing the new software - run a Database update followed by a shutdown & power-on of the computer - login & monitor for the original problem? IF it repeats log the issue with Kaspersky Customer Service (KCS): https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, select Email, fill in the template as shown, provide a *detailed-history* -> select (yr) Kaspersky software from the drop-down-list (A) *Do NOT use the AI-BOT to submit the incident* Please share the outcome with the Community when it's available? Kaspersky plus nach Systemwiederherstellung deaktiviert?
Longlife replied to blödmann's topic in Für Privatanwender
Dass Update Plus würde die Version 21.25.7.504(a) tragen und ist die aktuellste. Würde einfach nochmals wie Vorgeschlagen oben in den Beiträgen die Version runterladen und Darüberinstallieren lassen. -

Hum ok... try to add this server to the update settings: https://s00.upd.kaspersky.com Once added, place the new server on top, and enable it. Are You using a VPN? What is your nationality? What is your current location? -
