Kaspersky keeps trying to update when I've uninstalled it?
Elminster posted a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
I uninstalled Kaspersky a while ago and it seems to be trying to update anyway. I believe it's in Russian (I don’t understand it...). I have no idea how I’m supposed to stop the update window from popping up when I can’t even uninstall it again. I checked Services, Startup in MSCONFIG and installing location. No traces found. I cannot use Kavremover 'cause I can't remember the version of the KIS previously installed. I'm on a windows 11 pc. Pls. see attached screenshot for reference. It's getting really annoying. Please Help. -

Databases extremely out of date notifications, update does not remedy this
Tbarb posted a topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
79 days to go for subscription, scans work, but keep getting "Databases are extremely out of date". Update seem to start but stop immediately and continued databases out of date notifications continue. Program tells me no active threats are detected and al components are running, yet shows the Databases are extremely out of date. So I don't know if things are really working, or it is just checking old definitions, or if anything is working. Please advise -
Kaspersky Security Center 14 - Some devices fail update task

Hi, We have the Kaspersky Security Center 14.2.0.26967 and this week we the the update databases task and some devices fail the update with the information cancelled by the user. We make very tries and on devices the users dont cancel any operation. We need your help, i search for this topic, but i dont have any results. Send in attachment a image settings of the device with is problem. Best Regards. -
I found this topic whilst searching for a way to make the update window smaller. It seems it can not be done below 1 hour. I just wanted to know the automatic default, so it's indeed every 2 hours? OK so 1 hour is faster than that, I set to 8am every hour and 2 minutes after app start as I don't see the point of the delay with that which defaulted to 15 minutes. Honestly, I would prefer setting the update schedule to every 15 minutes and I think Kaspersky should allow the paranoid user like myself to set it that frequently, as what can it harm? it's not as if it causes any network slowdown or PC performance issues. Nevertheless, I do run an update myself before every manual scan, so that brings another thing. When we right click the K icon in taskbar, I think a very easy option to add and a very useful one would be to have an update shortcut. So we can just right click icon and update. No? Any reason why this would be a bad idea? The way it is now I have to open the interface and navigate to the security tab and click update. It's not the end of the world, just could be really easy with a shortcut in the right click menu. There are so many other things you can do there, like exit, pause protection etc, I think an update option would be great. Edit: Typos

Question malware detected other software
AlexeyK replied to carlos88's topic in Virus and Ransomware related questions
Real-time protection and full scanning are different processes. Yes, it didn't have a malware file signature. You may install Kaspersky Free again, update the databases, and perform a full scan. If it finds nothing - you don't need anything else. Perhaps this file wasn't used at all, but only laid quietly in the folder. Most likely, everything is fine with files. If there are documents, photos, archives, etc. - just open some number of them and check. -

Saboteur inflicted ordeal with impunity
Leo24 posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Kaspersky's history and dedication to customers! "Kaspersky began with a simple mission to protect people and businesses from cyberthreats and build a safer world. Our founder, Eugene Kaspersky, believes 'everyone has the right to be free of cybersecurity fears'! And it is this belief that underpins our efforts as a company. Kaspersky products are always at the forefront of technology, delivering state-of-the-art protection for our users". "Kaspersky's customer service is also highly regarded. We offer the option of 24/7 remote IT support with our consumer products, which can include services like remote installation, virus check and removal, and PC health checks. Having this priority access to support, gives our customers greater peace of mind, because they know we're always there to help". • So how on earth sadistic saboteur inflicted ordeal with impunity since Oct 2024, to the detriment of my Latitude E5540 (Win 7 Pro) reliability, besides the torment inflicted on me. Whilst the incessant internet interruptions cropped-up at will of the imbedded saboteur, virtually breathing down-my-neck. Compounded by the relentless email log-in impediments via sadistic verifications ploy. Compelling repeatedly to identify a lot of vague features within the obscure images charade. Conditional to access email accounts, under Kaspersky's protection! Outrageously exploited as a double-edged sword, whatever it takes to torment the targeted user. Once the technical assistance was sought by me, I became flabbergasted by the perfidious modus-operandi of the cunning customer service representatives! Anti-banner issues post update to 21.19.7.527(b)
juice_of_2_limes posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Prior to automatic update of my Kapersky Plus to version 21.19.7.527(b), I had no issues accessing internal/external websites. However post update some sites would either give a blank page or when you log in not display any further content (example Experian, Nextdoor neighbout Uk). I traced this to Anti-Banner which I have always had on. If I now disable this, then the websites behave as expected. Leaving Anti-banner enabled and adding the site addresses to the exclude list does not work, the websites won't function. As a test on another PC, I've uninstalled and re-installed as fresh and the issue persists so something has changed in Anti-banner with the latest release. Anyone else noticed this? -
I am using Kaspersky Standard Edition 21.19.7.527(b), which was upgraded from version 21.18 by installing the 21.19 package. Recent updates have caused the automatic update task to stop. By reviewing recent logs, for example: the update started at 9:46 AM 12/9/2024 and ended at 9:46 AM on the same day. The log records that the task has stopped. In KSWS/KESS/KICS there is an option in update task to Lower the load on the disk I/O. It is important to understand that when this option is enabled the task does not use HDD resources at all. Updater will not only place current updates to RAM. Update temp and cache files will also be placed there. Incorrect expectation: The task uses dedicated amount of RAM, in case if dedicated RAM is not enough for all update files including temp and cache task will continues through HDD. Actual product behavior : The task uses dedicated amount of RAM, in case if dedicated RAM is not enough for all update files including temp and cache then task fails with the error: Failed to update. Reason: insufficient drive space.
