windows 11 Kaspersky App caused Windows 11 apps go offline

All of Windows Apps that require Internet, even prompts to login to MS account, failed as they couldn't detect internet connection. This was all of a sudden. I have windows 11 to the last cumulative update. Afeter trying so many things, like desactivate PROXY, change DNS, disable Kaspersky VPN, and suspend Kaspersky protection. Nothing worked. Finally the issue was gone when I uninstalled Kaspersky Security; VPN and password manager. I have time of subscription left still, and I need an antivirus. What could have happened with the Kaspersky apps to cause this, and is there a configuration which avoids this issue? Thanks -

What a nightmare. I'm happy I made the decision to use another provider. The 8th day was the absolute limit for me. A month? That is absolutely insane. They should roll the update back until they fix the problem with the integration.- 15 replies

A lot of users feel the way you do. That is one of the reasons I started this topic. For me the primary issue is communication. There was none, that I received, notifying me of upcoming change, and I only received an email 4 days in. That's 4 days without a VPN. I reached my limit on the 8th day, and took advantage of the Black Friday deals to sign up with another provider, but. It was money I hoped I wouldn't have to spend. The request for Kaspersky to EMAIL their customers with an update has not been acted on. The lack of clear communication is harming their reputation, and unfortunately they don't seem to understand that. But this is the first such issue I've had with Kaspersky in nearly a decade, and I'm more than happy with their other products.- 15 replies

Exactly, they say it's an update, and it updates, but it's worse. It's worse than ever. They removed connection countries. I used my country's VPN, and Costa Rica is gone. They removed a bunch, and the service stopped working. Why the hell did they ruin something that was working? You can be sure I won't be renewing my premium license on any of my devices. Have Kaspersky Standard & Kaspersky Plus been fully *uninstalled* from the computer? In both the Kaspersky Premium application & the Kaspersky Premium VPN are each of those applications *signed-into* with the same-email-address that (you) use to sign-into (your) MyKaspersky account? When "I tried to upgrade my Kaspersky to premium and again VPN doesn't connect" happens - what error/s do (you) see - post back the information in English & please *hide* any personal information before posting? You may be thinking it's not necessary as Kaspersky is aware the provider-transition has contributed to many of the problems, however, Kaspersky is actively working on logged cases, we'd encourage anyone impacted by the transition to do as Kaspersky is suggesting/requesting & submit a case with Kaspersky Customer Service, select Email & fill in the template -> select (your) Kaspersky software from the dropdown-list(A) & please provide a *detailed-history*: ***IMPORTANT*** -> please post back the incident-reference-request-number, it's prefixed with INC0000? Update: Since the problem couldn't be solved at first, I was referred to the product development in Moscow. They were able to help me reinstall Kaspersky Plus. The problem was the setting “Intel Turbo Boost” (Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 / Intel Turbo Boost V3) in the BIOS. After I disabled it, I was able to install Kaspersky Plus without any problems. I don't know whether the original problem (the product doesn't start due to an error message “Microsoft .net failed to initialize”) has now been solved or not. However, I will ONLY get in touch again IF the problem occurs again. -

You've been an incredibly *proactive* user, personally we wish more subscribers were like you - however - you also need to email thru (your) observations - changes - to the support team - so the data can be recorded in (your) incident request; the 'devs' don't have time to do that, and with the complexities of the VPN transition they've barely had time to scratch-their-ar*es*. The current status for the DNS leak, as advised by Kaspersky is "sorry for any delays, still being worked on". We're delighted to read Fastest-server is fixed by the update. Regarding TLS, please submit that to the Kaspersky Customer Service team, they may ask for data; we *know* raising incidents can be a pain but they're essential for Kaspersky's problem management process -> please post back the INC0000? No, currently i have not updated the email to the developers due to volatile nature of the proceeding updates as i expect a lot of changes they need to make over time. However i did like them this thread to follow. 🫡 they said they would update me; again im not expecting incremental updates from them, more like just one when they know for sure that all issues are ironed out. so i had a theory that the fresh VPN install settings were good but would change upon restart my pc causing the problems. but when i went to go try i no longer get the VPN version i had before 21.23.6.614-2 (a) but rather i have now 21.23.6.614-2 which fixed the problem of the fastest server location not going to bangladesh and went actually near me to a US server 🥳🎉🎉 another note for the devs: on this for this forum i got a TLS handshake error when try to sign in with the vpn on 😅 -

Hello @nayomi kumarasinghe, Thank you for the update! We're delighted to read there's been *progress* -> Well done!! Kaspersky Standard *only* allows for a single-email address. To add multiple email addresses, it's necessary to have a Kaspersky Plus OR Kaspersky Premium subscription. It's not possible to ADD additional emails to the DLC in the Kaspersky Standard package. YOUR subscription / application is *ACTIVE* -> the information shows under (your) email address on the left-hand-side of the application window. Hello @MattDSI, Thank you for posting back & the extra question/s & apologies for delay in revert! Yes. Not quite so simple; when the subscription is sent to your account, (you) down load it & install it - i.e. (you) select *which* device* is allocated to *which* subscription, but -> IF (you) were to 'change' any of the Windows devices; the devices reflected in (your) my Kaspersky account would still show the *original* names, i.e. the device-name when the Kaspersky software was installed. The MyKaspersky account doesn't update-automatically. In our opinion, it'd be better to request a *refund*, explain (you've) purchased the wrong *device-number* subscription, you wish to cancel, refund & repurchase the correct-number subscription - that way (you're) only managing one subscription, with all of the devices linked to it - it still can mean at some stage - IF (your) devices are renamed - (you'll) also have to manage that in (your) MyKaspersky - but that's no show-stopper & won't stop the devices working. It's easier to manage multiple-devices on *one* subscription, than multiple-devices on multiple-subscriptions (ioo). After update lost some servers and double vpn

What I was notified by email was only that Kaspersky had been working on changes to certain things around the time I had to install this update; That it would cause some disruption for a while. None of your above-mentioned explanations and information were given in the email. No mention of disappearance of double VPN. I ve now found the information I needed on this web page from you, which is detailed to some extent. I think these explanations should have been provided for the users of this VPN in the first place in order to avoid unnecessary confusions we have had here. I believe there are still more costumers like us out there all over the world, wondering what is going on with the VPN. By the way, I am still waiting when this VPN will start running as its expected way. "Connection time out" keeps happening off and on as of now, when I send emails. Thank you. --- The number of available VPN servers will change from ~105 to ~85, most common servers will remain. The router feature, protocol selection and dual VPN options will disappear. We’re continuing to expand coverage and add new features in upcoming updates. --- P.S. Driver "VPN WG Nt Adapter" keeps changing and I cannot make the settings of this driver in a certain way. (off topic) -

Corel benutzt verschiedene Serveradressen. Ist es denn wirklich der Update Helper allein? Es sollte so nicht sein. Es wird so sein wie unter WIn, dass verschiedene Programmteile sich gegenseitig sichern und Änderungen umgehen. Sperre noch zusätzlich alle Programmteile inklusive des Hauptprogramms. Sollte es da Funktionieren wie gewünscht, kannst du dich ja dann rantasten und einzelne Teilprogramme wieder auf Standard setzen, bis die unerwünschte Verhaltensweise wieder auftritt. Einfach ausprobieren. Tipp von mir: jede Änderung dokumentieren, so das jeder Schritt für dich nachvollziehbar ist. -

no worries, tl;dr means too long; don't read, basically means in summary. party at montreal eh 🥳 i live aboot in canada ontario ^ ^ yup the INC is open, and remains as the last update i mentioned (the devs have my data) but no confirmation on progress since Nov 26 when they said they would keep me posted. Im not expecting any more updates. i'm glad the data got to devs. I just keep posting updates in case the devs need awareness of how things are actually going client side. 🫡 -

However, the problem isn't the rules, but the fact that the Kaspersky app doesn't keep the rules; it removes them with every update. -

tl;dr same problems new vpn version 21.23.6.614-2 (a) had a secutiry update for windows (KB5007651) and my pc restarted. again while connected to the vpn youtube loads and plays videos but then the connection weakens then drops resulting in needing to refresh the page. dnsleaktest.com is still not found. selecting fastest server puts me across the world at bangladesh. 🙃 Im glad to see they have the Montreal server back at least. 🙂
