Montreal servers feel great, quick loads no hiccups on youtube. 🥳 a bit quicker then Toronto imo, but maybe due to many normal factors. I Still get time outs where youtube tries to run an add and shows the page is not available but i think thats because of my adblock web extension Ublock Origin on firefox.

Hi, last week my subscription to another internet security ended (not sure if it matters, it was GData). I decided to switch to Kaspersky. I installed Kaspersky Premium and only later removed the older IS, so that there would be no gap. When Kaspersky did a quick search, it found 2 suspicious files, one was a jpg file, which I didn't recognise and it was at a very strange location and another was called hosts.rollback (or something similar). Both files were infected and both files were also removed by Kaspersky. So I'm convinced Kaspersky is doing it's work. ButAfter that first installation and check, I started getting very frequent BSOD's, almost every 5-10 minutes. The message on the blue screen is: IRQL is not equal or less (or something like that, it disappears real quick). The message in event viewer is as follows: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000000004e2b34c, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff805e8a9f600) I have googled the issues at best as I could, I did a few things, like system file checker etc. in windows, I also checked my memory, hard drive(s) en motherboard bios. Nothing seems to be helping. In the last year my pc crashed about 3 times, caused by faulty drivers by Nvidia. Which seems to be resolved after new drivers. And now I have a few houndreds of crashes in just 4-5 days. So I can get in touch with Kaspersky customer service, but they ask for a complete dump of the crash, to be able to do this, I have to follow 2 steps. I cannot finish the first step, because I get a warning from windows that I cannot change that value because of some group policies. Did anyone encounter an issue like this and how can I resolve this? <Edit: I have win11, 24H2, 26100-4351, quite well built gaming system with all elements just 1 year old, everything seems to be in perfect order. Like I said, I have Kaspersky Premium.

Thanks for reply. Just now, my Windows prompted me to update. After the update, the quick scan returned to normal. Thank you very much. Could you explain what caused this?

Hello @Killeriguana, Thank you for posting back, the information & the image👌 We contacted support, they said: The quick launch icon in the data entry field is referring to the tiny keyboard icon (number 1 in our image), where you may click and open the On-Screen Keyboard. If you uncheck “Show quick launch icon in data entry fields” option, the tiny keyboard icon will not show. Support went on to say: We (Kaspersky) do not have an option to turn off the pop-up (number 2 in our image), if the Secure Keyboard is turned on in the background. All you can do is to close (click x) the pop-up notice. That's the only way you can make the pop-up disappear as this is a feature by design. We asked: Don't you think, if *Show quick launch icon in data entry fields* is unchecked & the tiny keyboard icon is *no longer visible*, it would make sense that the Secure keyboard input is enabled pop-up would also not show? Isn't that commonsense? Support said: That's two different things. On-Screen Keyboard allows users to use the on-screen keyboard to type without using a physical keyboard. Secure Data Input is a protection feature that prevents keylogging applications to capture keystrokes. As I said before, we do not have the option to make the pop-up disappear. The user can just close the prompt and that's it. I will suggest this feedback to our team. Note, (ioe) “suggestions” don’t get very far in the Kaspersky bubble; they appear to dedicate a lot of resources to implementing cosmetic changes, not fixing things that would help their subscribers? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋

I have had this issue yesterday, but now it connects again. Still, it is really slow and unstable. Not sure how it fixed, just did it by itself. I think it just has to do with the infrastructure updates not being fully tested and complete. They must have rushed this update so quick, hence all the issues. Hopefully something official comes up.

I've been gathering a number of issues regarding visual bugs and abnormal symptoms regarding action malfunctions and etc. And I refuse to accept that I need to uninstall the antivirus every year when the company release a new version. Upon annual new version in 2025, KS 21.20 ( can't remember which version was ) got released on February 6th while from 2024 KS 21.19.7.527(b) had minor issues where scans were not partially registering or saving upon conclusion at report page and the workaround was to maintain report page open till the verification/scan was over. When Kaspersky Standard 21.21.7.384(a) came this issue remained but keeping report page open till verifications/scans were being done, upon finish they would still not register or save any data. Since then I've made new discoveries about and to make verifications/scans be saved and register ever since now I have to maintain report page minimzed and open and on 95% to 98% I've to refresh the page and expand the scan on progress and click on start time stamp so they can be saved and register. This issue affect full/quick and background scans. There have other bugs where tonight upon another automatic update from KS when I've attempted to run a quick prompt scan using mouse on a folder, the scan got stuck and was forever running at 100%. After that issue ran off I've spotted the interface showed duplicate selective scans instead of one. To fix this odd behavior, restarting the computer managed the solve the issue. One of the translated image I've manipulated is to guide there have been a minor to KS 21.21 that particular setting is so unwanted that made some serious crashes to the whole PC back on release and I was not aware untill I've turned off ''Suspension Windows mode''. I mean that uncalled function completely ignore the other function that come along on front when you run full scans. I also have noticed when searching for updates to Kaspersky Standard data base, the percentage rate on the interface goes slower than on the icon in the set ray.

Hello, Thank You for Your reply. The article You’ve shared refers only to hardware and software requirements for macOS versions up to 15, while this report concerns a confirmed reproducible issue on macOS 26.0.1 (Tahoe, build 25A362). After detailed analysis, I’ve identified the exact cause — the new XPC handling in macOS 26 interferes with the com.kaspersky.kpm.bl.resolver endpoint. This results in Kaspersky Password Manager freezing immediately after launch. Removing or resetting that endpoint restores full functionality and stability. I would kindly ask You to forward this finding to the macOS development team so that it can be validated and patched in an upcoming release. Including this fix or a related note in the official documentation could also help other users who may experience the same issue.

Hi, I have Kaspersky VPN set to split tunnelling and to only work on Firefox. That's great, it works fine. However if I try and launch warcraft the game fails to connect. Why is this? It seems to imply as if split tunnelling is applying outside of just firefox. As soon as I close the VPN wow loads fine. Wow does not care about VPNs, other VPNs work fine on it so im a bit confused.

It's pretty useless to scan password-protected archives via VirusTotal.🙂 For a quick solution, you can try to configure an exception, as shown in the screenshot (don't forget to save the changes). Perhaps you may need to add something else to the exceptions.

Wow, what this little exe put me through with Kaspersky. So I reinstalled Kaspersky premium, instantly it detects keyboard locker as malware again. Mind you I've been using it every day when gaming or cleaning touchpad and keyboard, with Avira I was testing. And a complete FULL scan with Kaspersky finds only one malware, this little 200kb exe. Once it's deleted, another full, hour long complete system scan is clean. So again, if it was malware, it would have been infecting system for those last two weeks I used it when Kaspersky wasn't installed. It would have done SOMETHING malicious to my system. But as long as that little exe is not on my system, a full 1 hour scan finds zero malware anywhere. THAT'S how I always knew it was safe, before I even finally managed to get real proof (below). Remember, this all started over 2 weeks back, so it's been a very ridiculous process. I have every right to legitimately complain, and I am going to write a letter to Kaspersky support about it and express my disappointment and wasting hours of my time over this. Allow me to explain why. I followed all the instructions here in this forum: I booted in safe mode and it easily allowed me to access the exe file. Oh by the way, before I go on, I thought you might be interested in virustotal results: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/d4c104c17449e5eded7520d6c77f4dce1df933bd514ad65b515516aad3fc6829?nocache=1 Let that sink in. Do you know I have never seen any so called malware before, ever, where only one engine has detected it? If it's a false positive, it's always at least 2 or 3 or 4, but when even Mcafee and Norton say it's clean, you really know something is wrong LOL. So much for Kaspersky having the lowest false positives in recent av comparatives April test. And Avira having so much higher. LOL I ran Avira for 2 weeks straight, 24/7, and not a single false positive whatsoever. But I digress. I want people to understand what I went through to get this exe to submit it for reanalysis. OK So I booted in safe mode and copied it. As soon as I rebooted back into normal mode, I right clicked and disabled Kaspersky for 5 hours, of course I was going to manually re enable protection when I had submitted the file, but this is why something like Malwarebytes becomes so useful when you need to disable an AV. You see, disabling Kaspersky means your system is open to everything, as defender does not come back on, and not even if you right click the icon and exit Kaspersky (more on that later). I use Malwarebytes VPN and have a 2 year plus subscription for 5 devices because I use it on my mac and my iPhone, and I have it on the PC for second opinion scans like SO many others do., But because I am a paid user of it, when I need to disable an AV, with one click I can enable all real time protections of Malwarebytes so I am NOT NAKED to the internet, so to speak. Anyway, K was disabled, yet one minute into it, somehow it detected it and deleted it. Same as always, just two options, disinfect or disinfect without restart. It NEVER puts it into quarantine so I can restore it and add an exception, and if I reinstall it, Windows gives it a different install folder number which it does every time you uninstall and re install any windows store app. So this was impossible to make an exception for. It gets better. I had to go all the way and actually tell Kaspersky NOT to start with windows, and then I went back into safe mode, re copied the exe file to a place I had user access, re started and it was gone when the computer booted back into normal windows. So Kaspersky must have some kind of boot time protection. So I had no option but to uninstall Kaspersky, leave it uninstalled whilst I submitted the file to virus total and the false detection form and just re installed. Weeks of hell for one app. As to why I don't use the one other similar alternative app out there, it's incredibly slow, and has made an error before and locked my entire computer and I had to force shut down with power button. The windows store app is lightning fast and just works and always has. So that's why, before anyone asks. To me, Kaspersky behaved worse than any malware I have personally encountered. The real problem is the disinfection pop up that gave me no option to add it as an exception, no matter what I tried. It does make one think, and before anyone thinks I am whining, just remember I've spent about 10 hours of real time on this, submitting reports, testing other AVs, and so on. Kaspersky should not have behaved this way and given me an easy option to exclude it, like every other, I mean EVERY other AV I tested. How did I test the other AV's (I made a complete list of the ones I fully tested, about 17 of them, the ones that had 100% functional trials, but that's another storey for another time), well I used Eicar files. All of them bar Kaspersky allow simple restore from quarantine. ALL of them. Kaspersky just deletes. The thing is, if it's actually something like an info stealer or ransomware, of course I want kaspersky to delete it, but just for my own info, is there ANY setting, something in Kaspersky that could have saved me from this fresh hell with this innocent little file? TIA as always and sorry for my rant, now I can chill, K finally has the exe and I am sure before long I'll be able to use the app again. Cheers

I purchased kaspersky total internet security few weeks ago. I did this because I was going to do a clean reinstall of windows ten pro on a laptop and want more security. I did the clean reinstall and installed kaspersky total and it was good. Now just recently, my keyboard when entering into the address bar of firefox, chrome and even edge does not work. I did install the kaspersky extension for weeks ago for each of these browsers. I mainly been using firefox because I read its the safest browser. The thing is for some reason, keys like pageup, pagedown, backspace, enter, Caps Lock, ` and several of the function keys seem to work on the keyboard. And by keyboard, im talking about the laptop keyboard and also an external keyboard connected via usb. I use this laptop while connected to an external monitor almost always. The weird thing however is… if I am on www.google.com and move my mouse to the search option on google… my keyboard does work. I could type any character. But when I move my mouse anywhere else, whether its the address bar or an application of a program I open, my keyboard does not work. If I do turn on the windows on screen keyboard, well that does work no matter where I type. Now when I turned on the kaspersky on screen keyboard, it seems to work everywhere… except the address bar of firefox/chrome/edge. Also as of now, I have bitlocker enabled and a windows ten password enabled. My concern is if I turn off my laptop or restart it, when it ask me for my bitlocker pin, isn’t that going to be a big issue if my keyboard does not work? Thus I can’t type my pin in? Could you even get the windows on screen keyboard open at the part where it ask your bitlocker pin? I assume not right? So to be on the safe side now, suspend bitlocker and no windows ten password because if I do that… then when I do a restart of my laptop, then it would go to the main screen? I did not even turn off my laptop since yesterday because of this. Also I am traveling abroad so this happening now is very frustrating as I do not have any computer. Can you tell me what is the best advice on this? Is this a kaspersky related issue? It makes no sense why so few keys work on the address bar and some function keys work but none of the letters/numbers work. Yet they work while entering in the google search menu? Is this related to the kaspersky enable keyboard or the kaspersky enabled web browser? Would turning those off make it work? How do you even turn it off? I checked online and the instructions have you going to settings and I don’t even see that when opening kaspersky total security.

I never ignore anything, I was only replying to that other member with the pic and explaining why I couldn't access the folder in normal mode, which they were giving me as an alternative to safe mode (clearly, as they crossed the word safe mode out). I can not access networking in safe mode regardless, even if I enable safe mode with networking. It's been a problem for me since I have this laptop, and I have reinstalled a fresh OS multiple times and I can't get it to work. Maybe ethernet would work, but wi-fi does not, and there is no ethernet in this house, anywhere. Not a single port. Please don't accuse me of ignoring when I never ignored you, I just had to deal with the other issue first, then if I reinstalled Kaspersky, I was going to follow your every instruction. Right now Kaspersky is not installed, so I did not ignore a thing, and I feel offended about that, and rightly so. Now I will read the rest of your reply, thank you. Re the pic, I thought you were a mod. I apologise about that, as that was a mistake from my end. I no longer have the ability to edit any post though, which is confusing me no end. I can not find any other keyboard locker, not on the store in Australia. Could you kindly link to one? I put the search keyboard locker into Microsoft store and can not find one. Kaspersky free will have ads won't it? and spam? Is it missing anything for actual malware protection, like the roll back, extensive ransomware protection, etc, or is it just the firewall? does it still have mic and cam protection? That is essential to me, and Avira doesn't have it which is going to be a dealbreaker anyway, so that's out. I'd honestly rather just press "off" on kaspersky firewall and use glasswire, if that's the option. Not the end of the world. Glasswire still works and monitors all network activity, just you have to enable the firewall mode for block features. I am not that distubed by the idea of disabling Kaspersky just when I want to use Glasswire's features when gaming, and re enabling it when not. That's not a bad idea which just came to me. I was just concerned that the firewall might be integrated to other malware blocking components which is why I asked. I didn't even KNOW there was a kaspersky free till now, as I don't even see it on their homepage. My renewal is coming up and I am just trying to decide what to go with for the next 2 years, that's all. Re the app, it's a false positive, simple as that, and not up to me to fix it, I can't fix it, that's up to Kaspersky and support are aware of the issue. I have evidence it's a false positive. Kaspersky has listed it as a different malware each time it has blocked it, for one, and for two, as said, my system has used it every day for years, and if it had run any malware on my system, Kaspersky full scan would have detected other malware infestations on my system instead of detecting that one single file as the ONLY malware anywhere on my system. If that's not proof, I don't know what is. Not to mention NO other AV finds it to be malware. None on my system anyway, and I am up to 10 second opinion scanners now, every free non real time scanner I could find. Heck, EVEN Norton Power eraser says it's clean, and that's the KING of false positives. PS I AM going to contact the dev tonight and let them know of the issue with pics and a link to this topic.

I installed Kaspersky Antivirus and my mouse and keyboard stopped working after restarting. I am trying to fix the problem using Kaspersky Rescue Disk 18 but it only shows a black screen after choosing “Graphic Mode” or “Limited Graphic Mode”. I have an Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 graphics card. I tried to use this topic as a solution, however the link sent for KRD 2024 beta did not work. I can’t use my keyboard or mouse, I cannot run KRD since it gives me a black screen, and I can’t find recovery mode either. My PC is basically useless. Please help

Hi and thank you 1) How? I can not access any windows store exes in explorer and have never been able to on any computer, in fact windows won't even allow me to browse the install folders 2) I asked them what to do since send wouldn't work, and I guess it got lost in translation as I did not understand their reply at all. My question was, is there a report file generated to disk somewhere that I can send you, since the automated send feature keeps failing? They did not answer that 3) Thanks 4)The problem is it's not free anymore, it's a dollar now. I offered to buy it for support, happily. I have had it on my system for years and suddenly Kaspersky doesn't like it. 8 second opinion scanners, with full scans that took many hours, all say it's fine (MWB, ESET, Emsisoft, Norton PE, Hitman Pro and others). In fact I disabled Kaspersky as said and enabled Malwarebytes real time protection so I was not "naked" lol, left the app running for half an hour and pressed the buttons on it many times, and then I closed the app and reenable kaspersky. If there was actual malware on my system, Kaspersky would have gone nuts, plus I used it for the last month that kasperskyt wasn't installed, and if malicious, it would have infected my machine. The app is this: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9p70315qbf2r?hl=en-US&gl=US I believe that because the app is purposely designed to lock the entire keyboard with a click of the button, Kaspersky's behavioural analysis is thinking it's malicious. it's the only thing that makes sense. With reports, I am so sorry, I got upset and I used Revo to uninstall Kaspersky completely as I use that app on many games to instantly disable mouse if I am using a controller, or when I want to wipe the keyboard with a cloth (many times a day due to fingerprints which bother me a lot, it's a dark laptop), so now there's nothing kaspersky left on the machine and I have gone back to malwarebytes for malware/glasswire for firewall/spyshelter for webcam and mic monitoring for now. When I have time I can reinstall KAS and do it all again if it helps. I do appreciate the reply, I really do. I was just frustrated because every time kaspersky blocked it, I could not ignore it, it forced disinfection and it took ages each time.

So, in the last 4-5 days now Kaspersky is blocking the app Discord on my PC. It doesn't give me any notifications whatsoever I just can't launch discord while Kaspersky is active. Discord shows me the following error '' Update failed - retrying in X sec... ''. I did get in contact with Discord support and for 3 Days we tried many different ways to fix it, other versions, PTBs, older versions, different launch options etc. but in the end, it came all to the same result, Discord won't launch, no matter which version it is unless I completely turn of Kaspersky. When i do turn off Kaspersky - launch Discord - turn on Kaspersky, Discord won't show me pictures and won't let me play videos via the app. After a couple minutes more Discord will get in a state where you would get normally if you don't have internet connection anymore. So, as said to be able to use Discord i need to turn off Kaspersky. When i try to add the Discord.exe as a trusty source via Kaspersky option -> threats and exceptions -> specify trusted apps, Kaspersky does crash. I did attach a screenshot about it. When im in the opions '' exceptions for application '' and i add Discord.exe after i click 'tamam' which means OK, nothing happens (even if i wait for long). After i click it 1 more time Kaspersky just crashes. So here the stuff i already did and still doing. -Check for Updates and do them -Check drivers -Launch with administrator -Try older Version of Discord -Try to add as many folders etc from Discord as a Trusty source -Try different Version of Discord like Public Test Build -Send crash report when Kaspersky crashes I would be happy if someone can give me a solution to this. Discord staff run out of options to let me try so it seems like it might be a problem with Kaspersky. My Version is Microsoft Windows 11 x64 Build 22621 --- 21.3.10.391 (k) --- It's standart version of Kaspersky. Not a free one.

I have faced an issue which may be related and which is really impairing my hardware keyboard. This is the thing and it is related to the “Secure Keyboard input” and NOT to the “Onscreen Keyboard” When I used the alibaba.com website the “Secure Keyboard input” kicked in when i tried to enter a search. When I shifted to Microsoft Office 2019 applications I noticed that my hardware keyboard froze except for the “enter” and “backspace” keys. I chatted with “Support” and after several attempts, they deduced that the issue was related to the website and not Kaspersky. The best solution offered was to exclude this website from the “Secure Keyboard Input” protection. Which we tested. The result is that after this, only when I revert to the alibaba.com website and type a search without the “Secure Keyboard Input” protection will my hardware keyboard unfreeze. So I kept the exclusion awaiting a better solution. Then something worst happened. Any time I type on any website triggering the “Secure Keyboard Input” my hardware keyboard freezes and only when I reopen the alibaba.com webpage and type a search on it does my hardware keyboard unfreeze on this page and subsequently on the Microsoft Office 2019 applications. You can imagine what this does. I have serious doubts that this website does not tolerate “Secure Keyboard Input” and may have injected some form of keylogger which is affecting “Secure Keyboard Input” altogether. Any Thoughts?

Thanks. I was able to find it, though it was not that easy. Searching for "launch" did not return any results. Searching for startup has given 3 results. This settings is under: Settings (gear icon) / Performance settings / PC performance optimization / PC resource consumption Turning it off set Kaspersky Service 21.22 startup type to manual. And after I exit the App (from the notification area), it also the service as well.

I like Kaspersky, but I am unable to change anything in settings, including start on launch, because it instantly restarts. I've read that if you disable the start on windows launch option it will not do this, but when I try to apply the settings, it simply restarts and does not keep the change. Does anyone know if this is a part of the free version or a workaround? I want to be able to pause Kaspersky, but I cannot find a way to disable it, temporarily or otherwise, without it restarting the PC instantly. I tried to uninstall and reinstall hoping it would give the option to start Kaspersky on Windows start, but it instantly recognizes the license and goes back to restarting when any setting is changed. Any help is appreciated.

I may be late but you can actually disable this feature. Go to settings and search for "secure keyboard input", click on it, then the settings for this feature will open. Just uncheck to disable it and click save. My complaint in the thread is that I want to continue using this feature without the annoying popup showing up every time. This feature is supposed to "help protect your data from keyloggers", so there's no reason why someone should disable it, except that annoying popup forces us to disable this feature completely. I've been living with that feature disabled for many years because of the popup. Note: This feature is different from On-Screen Keyboard. The settings for both are available on that same page.

This installer (screenshot) is signed properly, Trusted (digital signature). But installation fails. Because now it's Untrusted installer. What if the unsigned file is new and just unknown in KSN? It will be blocked even with enabled trusting digitally signed apps. And the product will not report this, there will simply be an installation/update/launch error. There is also apps Trusted (digital signature without confirmation). These apps will be blocked instead of running normally in the Low Restricted group. So, there can be a lot of problems with these settings.

Excellent, will try this method instead. Just one more question, should I first uninstall my existing kaspersky before launching the installer? Or just launch it as is with the application in my system and just wait for it to be overwritten Edit: Additionally: which version are you on? Im not sure if this installer i have will bring me up to the latest version (the one the Estonian, Latvian etc... has) or if i will be perma locked in this 21.21.7.384 version.
