Kaspersky free AV destroyed my PC [Solved][Closed]
mkdr replied to mkdr's topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Hello, I just installed Kaspersky free AV, downloaded through your website (startup_14441.exe) an hour ago and it destroyed my laptop, latest Windows 10 64bit, default AV Windows 10 Defender + Malwarebytes free (manual mode scan). There is no malware on the laptop, I do daily scans with both Defender and Malwarebytes. The installation of your AV went through fine it seems, it asked me if I want to activate KSN, I said no. It then installed and then there was a popup asking me two things I dont remember, I think if I want the AV to auto remove known malware like dialers and such, and another question. I wanted to click ok/next, but nothing happened anymore. The dialog was frozen. I clicked start menu button, the animation of the button went down, but no start menu appeared. I had Chrome open in the background, and it had asked me to activate the Kaspersky addon, Chrome was still responding at this moment. I clicked yes enable, and at this time Chrome stopped responding too. More and more parts of the OS seemed to freeze/ crash every second. I tried ctrl+alt+del but no reaction. There was still animation going on on the start menu, I could still move the mouse cursor, I could still type with my bluetooth keyboard, but the entire OS seems to be freezing. After about 1 minute or so, I got a bluescreen of DPC_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT or something, system not responding anymore. PC restarted. Restarted Windows, logged in, all seemed to work. I opened the Kaspersky systray icon to look through the settings, then maybe after 30 seconds of login, everything started to freeze again. After 1 minute or so, watchdog bluescreen and reboot. Restarted Windows, logged in... same behavior. I am now stuck. Cant uninstall or do anything anymore, the PC is totally broken, because of your software. Tried to boot into safe mode, but pressing F8 during Windows boot manager doesnt do anything, it always boots into normal mode. Triggering safe mode out of Windows doesnt work obviously, because I have not enough time, the system starts to freeze after login maybe 20-30 seconds later. -
Chrome HTTPS websites only shows a black padlock but not HTTPS. [Solved][Closed]
gmb replied to gmb's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Thanks for your quick response from which I note that you say that these are 'normal'. Does that mean that they have now replaced HTTPS on Chrome although HTTPS is still appearing through other browsers? -
Thank you for quick reply. I really appreciate it. But I have a problem regarding the download. I tried to download the free version but the download link for the free version is not working . I'm only able to download cloud version. will it capable to protect my pc "offline"? Because I'm not working online all the time (The previous version did excellent job in offline).

Update Error, Confirmation needed to install updates [Closed]
richbuff replied to Khaja-STS's topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Welcome. First thing: Please pass your mouse cursor over the Kaspersky tray icon and tell us the full, complete name and version number of your Kaspersky product. After we know that: How do you connect to the internet? Is your internet connection ok? Is your internet connection metered? Have you waited 15 minutes after system boot up to see if the update will occur? Reboot, then check system date/time correct, then Settings > Additional > Network > Proxy server > select Do Not use proxy server. Are you on battery or main power? Settings > Performance > uncheck Disable scheduled tasks. Are you in Gaming Profile? Kaspersky Settings > Performance > uncheck Automatically disable some functionality when in full screen mode. Is your Kaspersky license expiring in a few days? language switch when entering password
fanto666 replied to fanto666's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
I'm not asking to switch KIS language, since it is already set to english. When user's keyboard is switched to non-english, I can't switch keyboards using hotkey in KIS, because the hotkey does not work. I must switch using mouse keys on taskbar, which is annoying. -
I just purchased and downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security 20.0.0.829 today August 8, 2019 and it is SO SLOW. I'm running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 on a 2018 Mac Mini with SSD, Intel i7 six-core, and 16GB RAM. Kaspersky is so frustrating. Quick-Scan calculates 57 Hours. Full-Scan calculates 36 Days. Both scans hang. It seems to hang on com.apple.telemetry --- as posted by another user 2 months ago! What's going on? Thanks.

Changing language in the Kaspersky Internet Security
Rune replied to Rune's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
How can I change the language from Portuguese (PT) to English (ENG) in the Kaspersky Internet Security app on my laptop (Windows 10)? I tried to search a bit in the forum and the suggested fix was to click shift + F12, but this doesn't seem to work on my laptop, instead that messed up the keyboard output.. Any help would be highly appreciated. -

Hello FLOOD , 5 ,6 - Assuming they are both in the same place i have attached a print screen So both Names, password and Addresses are selected to storage and fill automatically. I was checking the other options and saw that in the tab browsers the Edge is saying installed but not showing as activate, also to uninstall it says that it should be done from the browser. Also a quick question do you need to have your cookies and web data as well as files and cache data enabled on your browser (Edge) for the automatically login to work?

Kaspersky Free Causes Multiple Blue Screen With code BAD_POOL_HEADER
Lucas1805 replied to Lucas1805's topic in Kaspersky Free
Hello. Thank you for your very quick reply. I am sorry for being late reply. A lot of thing happen recently so I don't have time to check this topic. After posting this topic, the blue screen happened for several more time. I am really frustrated at that moment, I have work to do and it is kind of risk to turn off Kaspersky (the only way to stop the blue screen). So I decided to switch to a new AV after all of this. After I switch, no more blue screen happen. But there is some point i still want to ask you, please help me if you can. I really appreciate. I will answer your question in case these additional information help you in the future (hope it does) My answer: 6. I'm not doing anything with virtual memory itself. I only have 1 software - Bluestack that may use this (i'm not expert so I don't know clearly). Other than this I did not make any change or touch any setting related to virtual memory 7.I only use this computer on weekend so no chance for observe it over 5 day period 8. I'm assume you mean my windows version is old ? I just check and somehow Windows Update in Service setting is changed to manual (maybe in the past I change it, but I forget and thought my computer is on auto update). I set it to auto and go to Windows Update app and update my windows manually for this time. My question: Is there any chance that I can meet this problem when I upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security ? I'm intend to but for now really hesitate. Once again, thank you -
Hello FLOOD , thanks for the quick reply. 1-Edition: Windows 10 Home N x64 /Build18362 /Version: 1903 /Compilation:18362.267 2-Version:9.0.2.972 (b) / 1563191215_6231 3-Microsoft Edge 44.18362.267.0 /Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.18362 4-Kaspersky Internet Security /version: 19.0.0.1088(f) -Kaspersky Secure connection /version: 20.0.14.1085(b) 5-Bellow is a printscreen of my two only extensions ---- Nothing has changed I just recently started to use KPM and notice this slowness ---- Has listed above I use Kaspersky Internet Security ---- I have applications installed (Steam, GoG galaxy and Origin) but not running and the PC overall performance is not affected by Kaspersky to be noticeable. ---- Well it is true that I dont have the same issue with my Gmail account still you can tell its slower just not as much as Outlook and I understand that but it was after using the extension that I got this issue. ---- Well I will do some more tests for now I can show you another printscreen that I capture and attached (sorry it is in Portuguese but it says that the extension is making the browser slower and it advices to deactivate) this was made using Internet Explorer. ---- Well the main test I have been doing is try out the same activities with and without the KPM extension but actually having to shut it down using Windows task manager so I can see the diference in performance using Edge. ---- I will see if can do those mention tests I will post again. Nice destruction by KRD of partition table ! [MOVED]
Surgeon100 replied to Surgeon100's topic in Kaspersky Rescue Disk
Problem solved. Reason possible not fully correct quick clone of an original system to SSD with 90% capacity used. Some MBR problems before, repaired. After KRD now defect MBR and PT. Repair by testdisk using PT backup from original, and then using some backups of 2 partitions. Ev. KRD checked inconsistent but so far working PT and MBR and had some effects, who knows ! Conclusion: Clone of complicated original with 7 partitions and 90% used capacity better not a smart clone but a sector by sector with verification, e.g. by macrium reflect or acronis. But KRD had a negative effect ! No viruses found ! -

Google uses the webcam message dissapears too quick
Conimex replied to Conimex's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
To my surprise I received a message in my Chrome browser "Google uses the webcam". It was a message which had the look and feel of Kaspersky, and I have Webcam protection turned On in Kaspersky. But the message dissapeared in a few seconds and I didnt have enough time to choose the option to block this activity. Is there a possibility to view the log of Webcam usage and to disable all Google webcam requests? I don't know wheter this request has been blocked or not as the message was gone too quick. Best regards, Max -
antivirus command line parameters: How? what is the syntax?
Schulte replied to Faustocg's topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
You can use the following command for a first test. You have to customize the path, I don't know which product is used. (and don't forget the quote marks) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\[Path to your KL produkt]\avp.com" SCAN F: /MEMORY /i8 /fa /R:%homepath%/desktop/ReportScanF.txt The command scans drive F and the system memory, a log file named 'ReportScanF.txt' is stored on the desktop. Finally an overview of the parameters, then you can experiment with the settings. I have an Gateway, windows 7. Kaspersky Total Security. Every time I run a full system scan it runs until it gets to 99% complete and then it stays there, it will not finish the scan. It will do a complete quick scan and reports finding nothing. I have let it set for 24 hours and it will not complete the scan. Any advice? I would like to delete Kaspersky and reload it but I'm afraid I will not be able to download it again since it will show that I already have downloaded it on a computer. I still have 202 days left on my subscription. Help.
